According to an embodiment, a toner cartridge for use with an image forming apparatus includes a body that contains toner and includes an opening through which the toner is supplied the image forming apparatus. A supplying mechanism is provided with the body that discharges the toner from the opening of the body to the image forming apparatus. The body is removably mounted on an mounting unit of the image forming apparatus through a port.

According to an embodiment, a developer-supplying container includes a container and a paddle. The container includes an opening for supplying the image forming apparatus with developer contained in the container. The paddle conveys the developer to the opening by rotating within the container. The paddle includes a first arm. The first arm has a shape that is wider on an upstream side in a direction of the rotation of the paddle and narrower toward a downstream side. In addition, the first arm is disposed such that a narrowest portion of the first arm is located at the same position as the opening in a direction of a shaft.

According to the present invention, when inserting and removing EPUs from an image forming unit, a support leg of a casing can swing, is inclined, and avoids easily a structural body on a path. Further, when putting the EPUs outside the main body of the image forming apparatus, the support leg is fixed to the casing. Therefore, the space for the support leg of the casing of the image forming unit to insert through can be reduced.

The present invention drives cleaning member moving devices for moving cleaning members of a plurality of chargers at the same time by a single cleaning motor to miniaturize an image forming apparatus and reduce the cost. An image forming apparatus includes a main body, an image carrier provided in the main body and configured to retain electrostatic latent images on its surface, and a developing unit including a holding unit holding plural developing devices, rotatably supported by the main body. Further, a driving source is configured to rotate the developing unit and move a desired developing device to a developing position opposed to the image carrier. A stopping member is configured to be moved to an unstopping position unengaged with the holding unit and to a stopping position to stop a one-way direction rotation of the developing unit at an exchanging position for exchanging the developing devices. A backstop member is configured to be moved to a removing position unengaged with the holding unit and to an engaged position engaged with the holding unit to prevent a rotation of the developing unit in a direction opposite the one-way direction rotation.

A method of assembling a developing apparatus comprises, forming a recess in the outer circumference of a pair of holding members, fitting a first positioning pin of an adjustment jig into the recess without a clearance, after the fitting, fitting a concave support member on a second positioning pin without a clearance, and positioning and mounting them, after the fitting, separating the first and second positioning pins of the adjustment jig from the recess and the support member, after the separation, assembling a pair of holding members in one body with a predetermined interval, and after the assembly, mounting a plurality of developing rollers by fitting both ends of the center shaft into the recess of the pair of holding members and the concave support member, respectively.
