To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a connection structure () and a wire harness (). The connection structure connects an insulated wire () comprising a wire tip portion (), an insulating covering () being stripped from the tip thereof, to a crimp terminal () comprising a closed-barrel-type crimping portion () allowing crimp connection with the wire tip portion () and has stable conductivity by crimping an aluminum core wire () by the crimping portion (). The method comprises a carrier cutting step for separating crimp terminals () from a terminal connecting belt () comprising the crimp terminals () attached to a carrier () in a longitudinal direction, a wire insertion step for inserting wire tip portions () into the crimping portions () of the separated crimp terminals (), and a crimping step for crimping the crimping portions () with the inserted wire tip portions ().

Method of manufacturing connection structure, wire harness, and device for manufacturing connection structure

The terminal connection strip includes: a carrier formed in a strip shape; and a plurality of terminal fitting which project from at least one edge side of the carrier in a width direction. The terminal fitting includes a crimping section which connects by crimping at least a conductor tip of an insulated wire provided with the conductor tip where a conductor is covered with an insulating cover and the conductor is exposed by peeling off the insulating cover on a distal end side of the insulated wire to the terminal fitting. The crimping section is formed into a hollow shape which allows the insertion of at least the conductor tip from a proximal end side of the crimping section and allows the crimping section to surround the conductor tip.

Wire crimping device

A wire crimping device includes: a wire crimping unit which crimps a crimping section into which a wire tip is inserted from a wire insertion opening which opens on a proximal end side of the crimping section in a long length direction; and a guiding unit which guides a distal end portion of an aluminum lead line to the wire insertion opening of a female crimp terminal arranged at a predetermined position for being crimped by the wire crimping unit, wherein an inner diameter of an opposedly facing portion of the guiding unit which opposedly faces the wire insertion opening is set in conformity with an inner diameter of the wire insertion opening.

In a terminal connection method of inserting a wire tip of an insulated wire, which is formed by stripping a front end of an insulating cover to expose an aluminum core wire, into a pressure-bonding section of a female crimp terminal to pressure bond the insulated wire to the female crimp terminal via the pressure-bonding section, signs are formed on the outer circumferential face of an insulated tip of the insulating cover at a distance of an internal length of the pressure-bonding section from a conductor tip face of the conductor tip, and the wire tip is inserted up to the signs in the pressure-bonding section to pressure-bond the wire tip to the pressure-bonding section.

Insulated wire-terminal connection structure, wire harness, and insulated wire-terminal connection method

A cover stripping step of peeling off an insulating cover on a distal end side of an insulated wire to form a wire tip; a marking step of forming a marking on the insulating cover at a predetermined position; a first marking inspection step of inspecting a stripping state and the marking; a wire insertion step of inserting the wire tip into a closed-barrel-type pressure-bonding section; a pressure-bonding step of pressure-bonding the pressure-bonding section to be connected to the wire tip; and a second marking inspection step of inspecting a pressure-bonded state of the pressure-bonding section to the wire tip using the marking are performed in this order, and the first marking inspection step and the second marking inspection step are performed using the same inspection step part.
