Electro-conductive fibers comprise synthetic fibers and an electro-conductive layer containing carbon nanotubes and covering a surface of the synthetic fibers, and the coverage of the electro-conductive layer relative to the whole surface of the synthetic fibers is not less than 60% (particularly not less than 90%). The electric resistance value of the electro-conductive fibers ranges from 1&#xd7;10to 1&#xd7;10&#x3a9;/cm, and the standard deviation of the logarithm of the electric resistance value is less than 1.0. The thickness of the electro-conductive layer ranges from 0.1 to 5 &#x3bc;m, and the ratio of the carbon nanotubes may be 0.1 to 50 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the synthetic fibers. The electro-conductive layer may further contain a binder. The electro-conductive fibers may be produced by immersing the synthetic fibers in a dispersion with vibrating the synthetic fibers to form the electro-conductive layer adhered to the surface of the synthetic fibers. The electro-conductive fibers have the carbon nanotubes homogeneously and firmly adhered to an almost whole of a surface thereof and have an electro-conductivity and a softness.

The present invention provides a polymer composition including a first base polymer (A) containing at least a thermoplastic polymer, a second base polymer (B) containing at least a thermoplastic polymer and not having compatibility with the first base polymer (A), and an additive (C) containing at least a substance not having compatibility with any of the first base polymer (A) and the second base polymer (B), the additive (C) being in the form of liquid or slurry at the lower of a pyrolysis temperature of the first base polymer (A) and a pyrolysis temperature of the second base polymer (B). An electro-conductive multifilament yarn for an electro-conductive brush that includes an electro-conductive fiber containing a synthetic fiber and a carbon nanotube covering a surface of the fiber. The synthetic fiber may have a single-filament fineness of not more than 30 dtex. The synthetic fiber may have 3 to 6 elongated recesses or grooves extending in a longitudinal direction thereof and have a multi-leaves or cross-section.

The polymer composition comprises a polymer and a liquid compound having poor compatibility with the polymer. Provided is a sheath-core composite polyester fiber with both the core and the sheath comprising polyesters and at least one end thereof is tapered to its tip. Two groups of recesses having different diameter ranges are formed on the exposed core of the tapered part and on the surface of the sheath, respectively. Napped fabrics with raised fibers comprising the composite fibers have good hand with stiffness (KOSHI), excellent color developing property and color depth when dyed. The fabrics have no luster difference or color difference such as dark fading and white appearance and, besides, produce no whitened seams, so that they are suitable for car-seat covers and like uses.
