A work machine comprises a main body, a cab riser, and a shaft. The cab riser includes a cab and a frame, the cab being uprightly positioned on the work machine in a first position, and being tilted forward in a second position, and the frame comprising a first plate to contact a second plate provided on the main body in the first position. The cab riser is rotatable about the shaft in clockwise and counterclockwise directions to and from the first position and the second position. The first plate and the second plate can be clamped together by a clamping assembly in the first position, the clamping assembly including one or more clamps to clamp the first plate and the second plate, and the clamping assembly is mounted on the main body.

A changeover switch is provided on a console positioned in the vicinity of one side of an operating sheet. The changeover switch switches over between a traveling mode, in which traveling operation is possible by the operating levers, and a work mode, in which implement operation is possible by the operating levers. In a work machine equipped with a switchover means enabling selective operation of traveling devices and a work device by means of common operating levers, switchover can easily be performed and also easily recognized. In a work machine having traveling devices and a work device, operating levers that are capable of operating the traveling devices and the work device are respectively disposed at the sides of an operating seat. A foot switch connected to a controller is disposed in the proximity of and operable with a foot of an operator seated at the operating seat. While the foot switch is being operated with the foot, the traveling devices are operated by the operating levers through the controller. While the foot switch is not being operated, the work device is operated by means of the operating levers through the controller.

When air pressure within a first container is less than a predetermined pressure, air is supplied into the first container through a first pipeline by a pressure application unit. Both the volume of the supplied air and a quantity of change in the air pressure within the first container due to the air supply are detected or calculated, and the volume of the liquid fuel within the first container is calculated from both the volume of the supplied air and the quantity of change in the air pressure. When the liquid fuel within a second container is less than a predetermined quantity, a predetermined quantity of liquid fuel is fed from the first container into the second container through a second pipeline by a feed unit, and the volume of the liquid fuel within the first container is calculated based on the number of times that the liquid fuel was fed.

A shutter type guard apparatus composed of a movable guard member which can be opened and closed for covering the window portion of the cab of a piece of machinery. The guard member is structured so that it can be closed to an intermediately opened position where it is easily operated. An auxiliary closing device includes a cable winding device for winding the first cable, a travelling unit coupled between the first cable and a second cable, an auxiliary guide rail in which the travelling unit and the first and second cables are guided for movement, and a pull handle coupled to the second cable. The auxiliary guide member is at one of a pair of left and right guide rails, for guiding the movable guard member. The pull handle is disposed at an intermediate position, in the vertical direction of the guide rail, and by pulling the pull handle downward, the guard member is forcibly closed to an intermediately opened/closed position where it can be easily reached and further closed by hand by an operator.

The body unit of the air-conditioning apparatus is disposed under the floor surface of the cab, cold air and hot air ducts are connected to the body unit, and routed under the floor of the cab to be passed through the floor surface and taken out into the inside of the cab using cold air and hot air outlets disposed at both left and right sides at the front part of the cab.
