Computer system is provided with a first physical computer and a second physical computer. The first physical computer is provided with a control device and a storage device coupled to the control device. The control device of the first physical computer constructs a virtual computer and can execute a predetermined guest program on the virtual computer. A part of a region of the storage device is used as a virtual storage device that is a storage device for the virtual computer. In the case in which the control device executes a live migration which is to migrate the virtual computer of the first physical computer to the second physical computer while executing the guest program in a substantial way, the control device executes a control for reducing a data writing amount in a certain period of time to a virtual storage device that has been allocated to the virtual computer.

Computer system to migrate virtual computers or logical paritions

A live migration in a virtual computer system. On a source physical computer, the control information area of the source logical FC-HBA (managed by an OS) is copied to the control information area of a dummy logical FC-HBA managed by a hypervisor. After an FC login to the dummy FC-HBA, an address conversion table is rewritten so that a host physical address for referring to the control information area of a logical HBA' can be referred to using a guest logical address for referring to the control information area of the source FC-HBA. After the FC logout of the source FC-HBA, using a WWN of the FC used for the FC logout, a login to the destination logic FC-HBA is performed. Next, the OS on the source computer is taken over by the destination computer. Therefore, the disk accessed on the source computer can be accessed from the destination FC-HBA.

Virtual computer system and control method of migrating virtual computer

When LPAR in a physical computer is migrated to LPAR in another in the state that OS operates, OS in LPAR can access disk which the OS has accessed before migration just after migration. FC-HBAs connected to the physical computers of the source and destination are constructed redundantly and one FC port is set to logging-out state in migration source before resumption of OS on the way of migration. After logging-in processing of FC is performed beforehand in migration destination by means of WWN of FC logged out in migration source, processing is performed so that path between FC logged and disk is viewed as being on-line from only OS. Path between FC not logged at destination and disk is processed to be viewed as being off-line from OS just after OS operates at destination, so that OS at destination can access the disk.
