An acceleration detecting device comprising a mass body inserted in a casing so as to be movable in the forward and backward direction, an elastic member for biasing the mass body backward, stationary contacts provided on the casing, moving contacts provided on the mass body, and auxiliary moving contacts also provided on the mass body, wherein the moving contacts contact with the stationary contacts when acceleration applied to the mass body causes the mass body to advance a predetermined distance against the bias of the elastic member, and when the mass body advances further and the mass body collides against the casing, the auxiliary moving contacts contact with the stationary contacts at the distal end of the range in which the mass body moves.

Acceleration detecting device

An acceleration detecting device comprising a movable weight, a movable electric contact disposed on the weight, a fixed electric contact, an resilient member, and a friction creating mechanism. The movable electric contact slides on the fixed electric contact when a force is given to the weight for moving the weight in a first direction. The resilient member urges the weight continually in a second direction opposing to the first direction. The friction creating mechanism gives a frictional force to the weight when the weight travels a distance in excess of a certain amount in the first direction. The friction creating mechanism increases the frictional force as the weight continues to advance further in the first direction.

The setting of a sensitivity of an acceleration detection device is performed by regulating the characteristics of a compression coil spring such as an initial load or a spring constant of the compression coil spring and by regulating the dimension of a mass body in an axial direction of a slide shaft. Further, a compression coil spring is used which has non-linear deflection-load characteristics.
