An eye chart presentation device includes a display to display an eye chart image on a screen, a reflection mirror to reflect light flux emitted from the display, and a convex lens system to form a virtual image of the eye chart image from the light flux reflected by the reflection mirror, the focal length of the convex lens system being greater than 800 mm. The screen is positioned within the focal length of the convex lens system, and the display emits the light flux from a lateral direction with respect to sightline of the eye. The reflection mirror includes a first mirror to directly reflect the light flux from the display and a second mirror to reflect the light flux reflected by the first mirror to the convex lens system.

An ophthalmologic imaging apparatus includes: a first optical system that applies an accommodation stimulus to a subject's eye; a tomographic image forming unit that includes a second optical system that splits light from a light source into signal light and reference light, and detects interference light between the signal light having travelled via the subject's eye and the reference light, and creates a tomographic image of the subject's eye based on a detection result of the interference light; and an analyzer that compares a first tomographic image with a second tomographic image to acquire change information indicating a change in a tissue of the subject's eye due to an accommodation stimulus change. The first and second tomographic images are respectively created by the tomographic image forming unit for the subject's eye, to which first and second accommodation stimuli are respectively applied by the first and second optical systems.

Lens-refracting characteristic measuring apparatus

A lens meter that measures optical characteristics of lenses of an eyeglass unit and an inspection glass unit, including a glass unit support, light sources, light-projecting and -detecting optical systems, light detectors, and inspection glass frame adaptors for the inspection glass unit. The support includes two sandwiching members displaceable to sandwich an outer peripheral portion of the eyeglass unit, and the adaptors can be fitted to and detached from the sandwiching members. A lens meter having a measurement optical system including a light-emitting optical system, emitting a measurement luminous flux to an eyeglass lens, and a light-receiving optical system having a light-receiving element, receiving the measurement luminous flux passing through the eyeglass lens, an eyeglass holding device between the light-emitting and light-receiving systems, and an arithmetic control circuit computing characteristics of the lens based on receiving element output. The holding device includes a lens receiver supporting the lens, and an eyeglass sandwiching unit, which sandwiches the eyeglasses. The lens receiver is freely movable between the measurement optical path of the measurement optical system and a withdrawal position outside the path, and is moved in the withdrawal position after the eyeglasses have been sandwiched by the sandwiching unit.

The present invention has been devised in order to raise driving efficiency of the vibration wave driving apparatus. A vibration member of a vibration wave driving apparatus of the present invention comprises the vibration member constituted of an elastic member and an electro-mechanical energy conversion element, and a rotor contacting the vibration member, and the vibration member generates a travelling wave in the elastic member when an alternating signal is applied to the electro-mechanical energy conversion element, in which an electrode film provided on a surface of the electro-mechanical energy conversion element of the vibration member is divided into a plurality of circular areas with different radiuses and each circular area is divided into a plurality of electrodes along its peripheral direction.

Disclosed are a spectacle lens optical characteristics measuring method and a lens meter in which measurement beams are not intercepted by lens pressers. The left and right lenses of a pair of spectacles are point-supported by lens rest shafts at some midpoints in the optical paths of a pair of left and right measurement optical systems, and the spectacle frame for the lenses is held by a pair of frame retaining plates from the front and rear sides. In this state, the spectacle lenses are pressed against lens rest shafts by lens presser shafts to be thereby supported, whereby the way the spectacle frame is held by the frame retaining plates is corrected. After the correction, the lens presser shafts are retracted from the measurement optical paths of the measurement optical systems, and measurement beams around the lens rest shafts transmitted through the spectacle lenses are received by a CCD of the measurement optical systems, the optical characteristics of the spectacle lenses being obtained by a computation control circuit on the basis of measurement signals from the CCD.

There is provided a position control apparatus and method for a table member which is capable of controlling the positioning of the table through very small displacement thereof, to thereby prevent the position of the table from deviating even when a disturbance such as vibration is applied to the table. The present invention relates to a vibration wave motor which is configured to prevent abnormal noise from being produced at a start time or a stop time and, more particularly, to a control device for a vibration wave motor which obtains a driving force by applying a periodic voltage to an electro-mechanical energy conversion element so as to generate in a vibration member thereof a plurality of standing waves having a phase difference therebetween, the plurality of standing waves being synthesized to generate a driving vibration in the vibration member. The control device comprises a frequency control circuit which varies a frequency of the periodic voltage and, when a driving force of the vibration wave motor is to be stopped, varies the periodic voltage so as to achieve a predetermined frequency at which a rotational speed of the vibration wave motor becomes zero, and a voltage control circuit which gradually lowers a voltage level of the periodic voltage to a predetermined voltage and then, after the frequency control circuit varies the frequency so as to achieve the predetermined frequency, stops energization of the vibration wave motor.

A wavefront sensor includes a plurality of lenses disposed in the same plane, and an area sensor that receives a bundle of rays of light collected through each of the lenses as a luminous point. Each of the lenses comprises a plurality of concentric areas with different focal lengths, and the area sensor is located substantially halfway between a first position in which a plane wave forms an image after passing through one of the concentric areas with a minimum focal length, and a second position in which the plane wave fronts an image after passing through another area with a medium focal length. With the wavefront sensor thus arranged, the measurement can be always achieved with high accuracy without involving noticeable blurring of luminous points on the area sensor regardless of the wavefront shape of a light beam indent to the lenses.
