A screw nail includes a nail shaft portion extending along one direction, and a head portion whose diameter is enlarged along other direction orthogonal to an extension direction. A sharp tip end portion is formed on one end side of the nail shaft portion, and the head portion is formed at an end portion on the other end side. The nail shaft portion is formed with a screw thread, and the head portion is formed with an engaging portion capable of engaging with a rotary tool. A convex portion protruding along an axis direction of the nail shaft portion is formed on an end surface of the head portion. A concave portion that is concave with respect to the convex portion is formed between the convex portion and the engaging portion. A virtual plane specified by vertexes of the convex portion is a plane orthogonal to the axis direction.

A battery pack is detachably attached to the battery mounting unit. The coupler is configured to take air in. The fastener is driven out by combustion pressure when mixed gas of combustible gas supplied from the fuel container and compressed air supplied from outside via the coupler is ignited. The coupler is disposed on a lower end side of the grip. The gas combustion type driving tool includes a pipe configured to connect the coupler and the combustion chamber.

Gas combustion type driving tool

A gas combustion type driving tool drives a fastener by combustion pressure when mixed gas of combustible gas and compressed air in a combustion chamber is ignited. The gas combustion type driving tool includes an air ejection valve, and a gas ejection valve. The air ejection valve is configured to eject compressed air into the combustion chamber. The gas ejection valve is configured to eject combustible gas into the combustion chamber. Output related to driving of a fastener is adjustable by adjusting at least one of filling pressure of compressed air or filling pressure of combustible gas.

A driving tool includes a striking cylinder comprising a piston configured to be actuated by a combustion pressure of a mixed gas of compressed oxidant and fuel, a combustion chamber in which the mixed gas of compressed oxidant and fuel is to be combusted, an oxidant supply port for supplying the compressed oxidant into the combustion chamber, a fuel supply port for supplying the fuel into the combustion chamber, and a check valve provided to at least one of the oxidant supply port and the fuel supply port.

A mask for use with a sample preparation apparatus that prepares an ion-milled sample adapted to be observed by an electron microscope is offered. It is possible to prepare the sample having a desired cross section by the use of the mask. The mask, which defines the boundary between irradiated and unirradiated regions on the sample surface, has an edge portion having an increased thickness compared with the other portions. When the edge portion of the mask is etched, the original shape is almost maintained. Thus, the side surface of the mask is kept on the center axis of the ion beam.

An energy-dispersive x-ray detector designed so that the space accommodating an x-ray detector device can be evacuated well and efficiently. When the detector device is not in use, a control portion stops the operation of a compressor and the operation of a refrigerator. Then, the temperature of an adsorbent rises. Gas which has been once adsorbed is released into the space, thus deteriorating the degree of vacuum. If the x-ray detector is instructed to operate via a console portion, the control portion operates a vacuum pump and opens an exhaust valve to evacuate the inside of the space. When the output signal from a vacuum gauge indicates that the degree of vacuum inside the space has reached a given level, the control portion closes the exhaust valve, stops the operation of the vacuum pump, and starts the operation of the compressor. As a result, the adsorbent is cooled. Then, the inside of the space is maintained at a desired degree of vacuum.

Energy-dispersive X-ray detector and method of evacuating same

An electron microscope capable of performing accurate X-ray analysis. A specimen stage on which a specimen to be investigated is placed, is disposed between the upper and lower magnetic pole pieces of the objective lens. The specimen is irradiated with the electron beam to detect X-rays emitted from the specimen. The specimen stage consists of a light element, such as beryllium, that produces a very small amount of X-rays when irradiated with the electron beam. A metal film of a heavy element, such as gold, is deposited on the upper surface of the specimen stage. This metal film produces a large amount of X-rays when irradiated with the electron beam. The X-rays emitted from the lower magnetic pole piece are absorbed by the metal film. Consequently, the X-ray detector of the microscope detects only the X-rays produced from the specimen.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing evaporation of liquefied gas in a liquefied gas reservoir used for cooling an energy dispersive spectrometer type X-ray detector (EDS detector) and its control method. A cold head of a cryogenic refrigerator is disposed in an upper opening of the liquefied gas reservoir, the cryogenic refrigerator is adapted to be put into automatic operation depending on temperature inside the liquefied gas reservoir, wherein the automatic operation mode of the cryogenic refrigerator is put into rest by remote control during the use of the EDS detector, while the cryogenic refrigerator is put into automatic operation with a previous alarm issued when the temperature inside the liquefied gas reservoir increases over a set temperature with the EDS detector being out of use, thereby allowing vaporized gas to be reliquefied with gas consumption reduced.

Apparatus for preventing evaporation of liquefied gas in liquefied gas

There is disclosed an electron microscope having an X-ray detector that detects the X-rays emanating from a specimen placed between the upper and lower magnetic pole pieces of an objective lens in the path of an electron beam. The dimension of the detector taken longitudinally of the gap between the pole pieces is larger than the dimension of the detector taken across the gap. A heat transfer rod is inserted between the gap to cool the detector. The detector is mounted to the rod. There is also disclosed an electron microscope having an X-ray detector mounted on the side surface of a heat transfer rod which faces the path of an electron beam. The rod extends along a straight line that runs substantially perpendicular to the path remotely from the path.
