A method for installing an electroconductive flooring and an electroconductive welding rod for use in this method are disclosed. The electroconductive welding rod is composed of a joint material including as the main component a thermoplastic resin composition of a ribbon-shape or a rod-shape, with the peripheral surface thereof being coated with an electroconductive coating material. The method for installing the electroconductive flooring is composed of the steps of laying flooring sheets in mutual contact and cutting joint-forming grooves, or laying the flooring sheets with spaces therebetween for the formation of the joints of the adjacent flooring sheets, softening the electroconductive welding rod, filling the softened electroconductive welding rod into the grooves or the spaces between the flooring sheets, and welding the adjacent flooring sheets to form joints, whereby the flooring sheets are electrically integrated.

A self-crosslinking composition contains: (a) an oil having an unsaturated fatty acid or an ester of an unsaturated fatty acid as one of its components, (b) a drier, and (c) a polymer or an elastomer that is capable of crosslinking in the absence of a peroxide. A forming (such as a floor tile, a linoleum long floor material, a wall material and a water-proof sheet) may be manufactured by forming and curing the self crosslinking composition and then adding a filler. Since the self-crosslinking composition is capable of crosslinking without using peroxide, the crosslinking reaction is easily conducted without using special equipment to reject air. The composition has a number of advantages over crosslinking methods that use peroxide, including decreased scorch generation, decreased permanent compressive strain, and superior heat resistance and anti-aging resistance. The composition is free from pollution of sulfur and metal and generates no harmful gas during waste incineration. Furthermore, the composition is capable of being blended, formed, and crosslinked under milder conditions than that of conventional methods that use peroxide. The formings show particularly high abrasion resistance, cigarette-proof properties, anti-stain properties, low charge voltages, and high stiffness. Therefore, the formings are suitable for floor tile and linoleum floor material.

This process of forming ornamental joints comprises sticking a sheet flooring material onto a floor base, thereafter drawing two parallel standard lines on this stuck sheet flooring material with a desired outline and an interval corresponding to the width of the joint, sliding a cutter on the sheet flooring material along this standard line thereby to draw two parallel cuts on this flooring material, stripping the sheet flooring material between these cuts to thereby form a joint-forming grooved portion provided with a masking along side edges of stuck sheet flooring material and charging this grooved portion with a joint material. This process permits to obtain various patterned ornamental joints.

Process of forming ornamental joints

A laminated bituminous roofing membrane including: (i) a fibrous sheet; (ii) a first bituminous layer laminated on one surface of the fibrous sheet, the bituminous layer being composed of bitumen or a bituminous mixture; (iii) a synthetic resin sheet or film laminated on the other surface, opposite to the surface laminated to the fibrous sheet, of the first bituminous layer; (iv) a second bituminous layer laminated on the other surface of the fibrous sheet, the bituminous layer being composed of bitumen or a bituminous mixture; and (v) a mineral aggregate layer deposited on the opposite surface of the second bituminous layer. This laminated bituminous roofing membrane can be readily and directly applied in a cold-application process on a substrate to form a waterproofing layer in which the joint portions of adjacent roofing membranes are completely water-tightly bonded and the formation of blistering and deterioration due to the presence of moisture or water from the substrate is prevented.

This process of forming ornamental joints comprises sticking a sheet flooring material onto a floor base, thereafter drawing one desirably outlined standard line on the thus stuck sheet flooring material, then sliding one cutting blade of a cutter with a pair of cutting blades, disposed leaving a space corresponding to the joint width therebetween, on the sheet flooring material along the standard line to thereby form two parallel cuts on the flooring material, stripping the sheet flooring material between these cuts to thereby form a groove for forming a joint, and charging the grooved portion with a joint material. According to the process like this, there can be obtained ornamental joints of various patterns.

An improved flashing sheet suitable for the formation of a flashing seal at a non-flat part having a three dimentional shape is provided. The flashing sheet comprises a base sheet of knitted fabrics having a high expandability in all directions and a modified bitumen layer of a mixture of bitumen and rubbers. This flashing sheet can be easily and directly applied onto the non-flat part of a substrate without any complex procedures and also without causing water leakage problems of the flashing seal.

A novel self-adhesive type multi-layer laminated bituminous roofing membrane suitable for the formation of the roofing or waterproofing layer on roofs, floors and the like is provided. It comprises a base sheet of a sheet-like material, one or more bitumen layers coated on all or part of one or both faces of the base sheet, at least one layer of compound bitumen including both bitumen and rubber and/or resin laminated on all or part of the surface of said bitumen-coated layer on the base sheet and at least one release sheet laid over the whole surface of said compound bitumen layer. This roofing membrane is produced by uniting the bitumen-coated base sheet and the compound bitumen-coated release sheet, and can be applied over a substrate in a simple manner, without the step of melting or liquefying bitumen as in the conventional application process.

Process for producing laminated bituminous roofing membrane

A novel combined application process of thermal insulation and built-up roofing or waterproofing is provided. In this application process, a foamed thermo-plastic thermal insulating material is bonded with a membrane having a tacky compound layer on one surface thereof so that the tacky compound layer is in close contact with the foamed thermoplastic material, without causing any damage due to heating, and a built-up roofing or waterproofing is formed on the other surface of the membrane according to the conventional application process.
