An overlock sewing machine includes: a looper cover detection member movable from non-switching to switching positions with looper cover open to closed state transition, with switching member operation switching the threading mechanism state to sewing-enabled after looper cover detection member movement to switching position; a side cover detection member movable from non-detection to detection positions with side cover open to closed state transition; and a lever coupled to the looper cover detection member and side cover detection member, switchable between states of pressing and not pressing the operating protrusion, following looper cover detection member and side cover detection member operating states. The lever is set to the pressing state upon movement of the looper cover detection member to switching position and of the side cover detection member to detection position.

Overlock sewing machine

With a overlock sewing machine, when a switching mechanism is switched to a threading-enabled state, and a looper cover is closed, the looper cover is slid toward one side in the hinge shaft axial direction so as to operate a detection lever. In the non-operating state, the detection lever is set to an initial position where it does not press an operation protrusion of a switch. When a side cover is closed, and the detection lever is operated, the operation lever is set to an operation-enabled position where it presses the operation protrusion. When the operation lever is operated, and the side cover is opened, the detection lever is set by passing through the operation-enabled to the operation-disabled position where it does not press the operation protrusion.

A compressed air supplying device of a sewing machine includes an air pump unit including a piston; a piston driving spring applying biasing force to the piston in an exhaust air direction which is a direction in which the air pump unit exhausts air for driving the piston in the exhaust air direction by the biasing force; a lever making the air pump unit perform intake air movements; and an operating force transmitting mechanism transmitting operating force of the lever to the piston for actuating the piston only in an intake air direction which is a direction in which the air pump unit intakes air against the biasing force of the piston driving spring by the operating force.

A thread inserting device includes a guide pin having a thread capture portion at its tip for capturing a thread; a holder that fixedly holds the guide pin; a main body (first and second main bodies) slidably mounting the holder; and a thread cutting portion provided to the main body for cutting the thread to a length equal to or smaller than the protrusion of the thread capture portion from a thread captured position on a thread tipside after the thread is captured by the thread capture portion. By shifting the holder, the thread capture portion is protruded to a predetermined length from the main body, and the thread cut to a predetermined length by the thread cutting portion is inserted into the thread inserting hole.

A overlock sewing machine includes a switch limiting arm rockable integrally with a main shaft fixing operating arm and an arm including arms which are actuated by operating a threading switching knob to engage with the switch limiting arm to rock a rocking lever portion and being engageable with a slide plate to move the position of the slide plate to a sewing executable position upon operating the threading switching knob to the sewing executing position side.

In an overlock sewing machine, a main shaft fixing operating shaft is provided with a differentiation ring that can be swung in a predetermined range such that, when the rotation of a main shaft is to be enabled, it is set to an enable state in a stationary state, and when the rotation of the main shaft is disabled, it is swung and shifted from the enable position. Furthermore, a looper cover open/closed detection configuration is configured by modifying a part of a typical known configuration. Such an arrangement provides an overlock sewing machine having a simple configuration that requires only a single micro switch to detect the switching between the threading mode and the sewing mode and to detect the open/closed state of the looper cover.

A presser foot for a sewing machine includes: a presser main body having an opening in which an upper feed dog is to be arranged, and configured to press a cloth; a rotational shaft connected to an upper feed mechanism of the sewing machine; a guide base provided to the presser main body so as to form a single unit, and configured to guide a ribbon; right and left guides configured as a pair of members provided such that they can be relatively moved with respect to the guide base, and to guide a position of the ribbon in the width direction, and arranged symmetrically with a position at which a sewing needle moves in a vertical direction as a base position; and an adjustment screw, right and left guide bushes, configured as a linking portion that links the movements of the right and left guides.

A presser foot of a sewing machine includes: a presser main body that presses a cloth; a guide base provided to the presser main body so as to form a single unit, and configured to guide a ribbon to be sewn to the cloth; a right guide and a left guide configured as members that are provided such that they can be relatively moved with respect to the guide base, that guide a position of the ribbon in the width direction, and that are arranged symmetrically with a position at which a sewing needle moves in a vertical direction as a base position; and an adjustment screw, a right guide bush, and a left guide bush, configured as a linking portion that links the movements of the right guide and the left guide such that they are positioned symmetrically with respect to the base position at all times.

A threading device of a sewing machine includes a flow path switching member, a base portion, and a plurality of thread introducing portions. The flow path switching member includes a gaseous body inlet portion for receiving a compressed gaseous body, a gaseous body outlet portion provided to communicate with the gaseous body inlet portion for exhausting the gaseous body, and a cylindrical outer surface portion at which the gaseous body outlet portion is opened. The base portion includes a cylindrical inner surface portion into which the cylindrical outer surface portion of the flow path switching member is inserted and for supporting the flow path switching member in a rotatable manner, and a plurality of flow paths formed to communicate with the cylindrical inner surface portion. The plurality of thread introducing portions are provided at the base portion to communicate with respective outlet sides of the plurality of flow paths.

Threading device of a sewing machine

An overlock sewing machine includes a main shaft fixing operating arm provided with a shaft pin engaging portion that engages with a fixing inner shaft pin and an arm provided to be operable by a user which are integrally rockable within a specified range, and further includes a main shaft fixing operating spring which urging direction is switched in both directions of an rocking direction by exceeding a neutral point by the rocking movements of the main shaft operating arm and the arm. An object of the present invention is to provide an embroidery cloth presser which prevents a needle thread from being sandwiched between the embroidery cloth presser and a cloth to allow an embroidery frame to move smoothly and which also prevents inappropriate draw-in of the needle thread, that is, prevents a cross-over thread of the needle thread resulting from long-distance movement of the embroidery frame from remaining on an embroidery surface. An embroidery cloth presser is installed on a presser bar of a sewing machine to press a cloth to be embroidered and which includes a projection provided on a bottom surface of the cloth presser which contacts the cloth around a needle and forming, between the cloth presser and the cloth, a gap through which a needle thread passes.

An overlock sewing machine includes a main shaft fixing operating arm provided with a shaft pin engaging portion that engages with a fixing inner shaft pin and an arm provided to be operable by a user which are integrally rockable within a specified range, and further includes a main shaft fixing operating spring which urging direction is switched in both directions of an rocking direction by exceeding a neutral point by the rocking movements of the main shaft operating arm and the arm.

In a sewing machine having an automatic thread cutting mechanism, a situation of a thread cutting operation is detected in power-OFF to continuously carry out a proper operation when a power supply is turned ON again after sudden power-OFF. In a sewing machine having an automatic thread cutting mechanism, there is provided means for detecting an operation situation of the automatic thread cutting mechanism when a power supply is turned ON. Based on a signal for the detection, the automatic thread cutting mechanism is operated to complete a thread cutting operation and to carry out a control to return into an initial state when a stop is performed with the thread cutting mechanism in power-ON executing the thread cutting work.
