The present invention provides an electron beam curable coating composition comprising: an electron beam curable component (A) which contains 10% by mass or more of a multifunctional (meth)acrylate; and a room temperature curable component (B) which contains 1 to 15% by mass of an isocyanate group and is not cured by electron beam irradiation, wherein a solid content mass ratio of the component (B) to a total amount of the components (A) and (B) is 20 to 55% by mass.

Electron beam curable coating composition

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a coated material by using a composition that can be spray-coated, and that does not run downward after coating (i.e., rheology controllable). The method for producing a coated material includes step (1) of applying an electron beam-curable composition containing an ethylenically unsaturated group-containing compound to a substrate to form a coating film that has a surface viscosity of 1 Pa&#xb7;s to 300 Pa&#xb7;s as measured based on an electric-field pickup method, step (2) of drying the coating film obtained in step (1) to form a dry coating film when the electron beam-curable composition contains a volatile component, and step (3) of irradiating the substrate that has the coating film obtained in step (1) or the dry coating film obtained in step (2) with electron beams in an inert gas atmosphere to form a cured coating film.

Provided is a method of applying an electron beam curable aqueous coating material, including coating a surface of a material to be coated with the electron beam curable aqueous coating material to form a wet coating film; drying the wet coating film until a time integration value of a reciprocal of an average value of viscosities of a region from a surface of the wet coating film to a depth of one half a film thickness of the wet coating film is in a range of 0.30 (Pa&#xb7;s)&#xb7;min to 0.90 (Pa&#xb7;s)&#xb7;min, which is acquired by an electric field pick-up method, and a solid content concentration of the wet coating film is 90% by mass or greater; and curing the obtained dry coating film by irradiation with an electron beam after the wet coating film is dried.

Disclosed is a curable coating agent composition which exhibits excellent wear resistance and weather resistance when applied as a coating agent to plastic or other substrates to be used outdoors. This invention is drawn to a curable composition that has excellent smoothness when a plastic substrate is coated therewith. Composition

A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition curable with actinic energy rays which comprises a copolymer comprising 0.1 to 30 wt. %, preferably 0.1 to 3 wt. %, structural units derived from an imide (meth)acrylate represented by general formula (1) and 70 to 99.9 wt. %, preferably 97 to 99.9 wt. %, structural units derived from an ethylenic monomer such as an alkyl (meth)acrylate having a C alkyl group. In formula (1), R and R each independently is hydrogen or C alkyl, one of R and R is hydrogen and the other is C alkyl, or R and R are bonded to each other to form a carbon ring; R is C alkylene; R is hydrogen or methyl; and n is an integer of 1 to 6. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is usable as one-pack type, has excellent storage stability, and does not necessitate any step such as heating or aging when used. The cured article obtained therefrom is excellent in bonding strength and holding power, is substantially odorless, and is extremely suitable for use in pressure-sensitive adhesive sheets, etc.
