An electronically controlled mechanical timepiece includes: a rotor including a rotary shaft, a pinion that is provided on the rotary shaft and to which torque from a mainspring is transmitted, and a rotor magnet attached to the rotary shaft, the rotor being configured to rotate by the torque; a generator that includes a coil and a stator and that is configured to generate power by rotation of the rotor; a main plate that contains a magnetic material, that has an opposing surface opposed to the stator, and that is configured to support the rotary shaft of the rotor; wherein in a cross-sectional view viewed from a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the rotary shaft, a center of the stator along the axial direction is disposed farther toward the opposing surface side than a center of the rotor magnet along the axial direction.

An escape wheel and pinion includes an escape wheel that has an axle, a web arm which holds the axle, and a rim which has a plurality of teeth. The web arm has a spoke which radially extends from the rim, and a comb including a radial spine and cross beams branching from the spoke.

Method of manufacturing magnetic head

There is provided a multifunction timepiece wherein the visibility of pointers can be improved, and increases in the thickness of the timepiece can be reduced. This timepiece includes a dial, an hour hand, a minute hand, a pointer, and a movement. The dial has a dial cover and a time display section on the inner periphery thereof. The hour hand is mounted on the time display section and has an hour hand rotating shaft disposed at a different position from the center position of the time display section. The minute hand is mounted on the time display section and has a minute hand rotating shaft disposed at a different position from the center position of the time display section. The pointer is mounted on the time display section and has a pointer rotating shaft. The dimension A from the pointer rotating shaft to the tip of the pointer is greater than the dimension B from the minute hand rotating shaft to the tip of the minute hand. The pointer rotating shaft is disposed at a position away from the hour hand rotating shaft by a distance less than dimension A and greater than dimension B. The movement drives the hour hand, the minute hand, and the pointer.

Multifunctional watch

A starter which applies a mechanical rotating force to a rotor of an electromagnetic converter, such as a power generator, for startup of the rotor. The starter includes a startup spring () having an engaging portion () engageable with a 6pinion () of a wheel train coupled to the power generator. In interlock with the operation of pulling out a crown, a reset lever () is operated to bias the startup spring for engagement with the 6pinion. Thereafter, the startup spring is released from the biased state in interlock with the operation of pushing in the crown. The startup spring is returned to the original position due to its own spring force, whereupon a mechanical rotating force is applied to the pinion. Since the rotating force can be set by a resilient force of only the startup spring, a stable rotating force is applied to the rotor ().

Starter for electricmagnetic converter, and timepiece

In an electromagnetic converter comprising a rotor arranged by including a permanent magnet, a yoke disposed in the vicinity of the rotor for flowing magnetic flux and a coil wound around the yoke, at least a portion of the yoke is composed of an amorphous metal magnetic material. The amorphous metal magnetic material is a Co amorphous metal or a Fe amorphous metal. The electromagnetic converter is a small generator, a motor and the like. In an electronic timepiece provided with a generator device, the Co amorphous metal magnetic material is used for a first yoke (stator) and the Fe amorphous metal magnetic material is used for a second yoke (coil core). In an electronically-controlled mechanical watch, the Co amorphous metal magnetic material is used for a yoke. Portable electronic equipment is a timepiece provided with the electromagnetic converter, and so forth

Electronic timepiece

A generator of an electronically controlled mechanical timepiece comprises a mechanical energy source, a generator, a train wheel and an electronic circuit. The train wheel connects the mechanical energy source and the generator. The generator includes a rotor, a first plate-shaped stator, a second plate-shaped stator, a pair of semi-circular stator holes and at least a first coil.

A power generator is provided and includes a piezoelectric transducer which generates electric power upon application of a strain. The power generator includes a vibrating arm having a sandwich structure wherein a support layer is held between at least two piezoelectric portions. The vibrating arm is wider on the support end than at a free end. The piezoelectric portions are extended to a root portion of the vibrating arm so that strain energy may efficiently be converted into electric energy. The piezoelectric portions each have a laminated structure so that piezoelectric power generator having the electromotive voltage and the capacitance optimum for charging may be realized.
