A bill paying machine is disposed between two operators to be used in common by them. The bill paying machine comprises a machine body and a door openably mounted on the front portion of the machine. Disposed inside the machine body are bill containers for holding bills therein, a drawing-out or paying-out device for paying out bills from the bill containers, and a transport device for feeding the bills to the front door. The front door comprises two paying outlets and a distributing device for receiving the bills from the transport device of the machine body and directing the bills to one of two paying outlets in accordance with an instruction by an operator.

An apparatus for accumulating and delivering paper sheets for use with a bank note dispenser including a paddle wheel for receiving paper sheets among swirling paddles provided on the paddle wheel and supporting the paper sheets thereon, a scraper for scraping the paper sheets away from the swirling paddles, an alignment plate for aligning the paper sheets above the paddle wheel, and lower and upper delivering rollers for cooperating to deliver, at one time the accumulated paper sheets as a whole in a horizontal direction. The two lower delivery rollers, are raised upwardly to horizontally support the accumulated paper sheets and are rotatably driven to deliver the paper sheets. The two upper delivery rollers are lowered to resiliently clamp the paper sheets between the lower rollers and upper rollers and are rotatably driven to deliver the paper sheets.

A device for carrying bank notes stacked in each of the container boxes to be inserted in an automatic money depositing and disbursing machine. On the other hand, when each box is removed from the machine, stacked bank notes are securely held in the box while being compressed by the pressing plate. The device provided by the invention comprises a box for containing therein bank notes and having an upper opening through which bank notes are stacked and dispensed, a pressing plate for carrying thereon the bank notes contained in the box to move them in the upward and downward directions and mounted in the box, a link shaft mounted to the box to be moved inboard or outboard relative to the longitudinal axis of the box and operatively connected to the pressing plate to move the same in said upward and downward directions, and means for locking the link shaft to prevent it from moving when the link shaft is moved inward of the box.

An automatic money depositing and disbursing machine has functions of receiving bank notes from a transacting port and feeding the same through a discriminating section provided in a note circulating delivery passage and accommodating in boxes normal notes judges by the discriminating section, and of disbursing the notes through the discriminating section from the transacting port. The machine is of such a construction that at least portions of the received notes are used as notes to be defrayed or disbursed. The boxes are adapted to be removably supported on the stacker supporting device. The stacker supporting device comprises a rail portion attached to the bottom of the machine and a movable portion adapted to accommodate the boxes therein and slidably supported on the rail portion in horizontal opposite directions.

The present invention includes a device for opening and closing a bank note container box. The device includes a push cover hinged in the vicinity of the upper covering of the box to open and close the box. The push cover is closed to push the aft end of the uppermost banknote to ensure reliable separation during the operation of pulling a bank note out of the box. The device further includes a swingable lock member to engage and hold the push cover in a normally closed condition. A swingable unlocking member swings the lock member to release the push cover during the operation of stacking bank notes in the box. An opening arm operates the unlocking member to release the push cover from the locked condition. The push cover is guided between the open and closed positions.

A device for locking a front cover attached to a bank note container box to cover the opening of the box. The device securely locks the front cover in the closed condition when the box is removed from the automatic money depositing and disbursing machine, and releases the front cover automatically when the box is held in position within the machine. The device comprises, in combination, an opening and closing cam and an unlock cam mounted to the machine body, and a lock member and a first unlock lever mounted to the side plate of the box. When the box initially inserted in the machine body is moved to be pulled out, the unlock lever is raised by the unlock cam so that the lock member releases the front cover from the locked condition in which it is locked in the open position. Thereafter the front cover is slowly closed by the action of the opening and closing cam. Then the lock member is moved by the action of a biasing spring to the position for locking the front cover. In a further preferred embodiment, double lock means are provided for safe carriage of the box by hand. The double lock means comprises a further lock lever and an unlock member operatively associated with said first unlock lever.

An automatic money receiving and disbursing machine having the functions of receiving money from customers and disbursing money to customers from a box disposed within the machine. The machine is provided with a circulation path in communication with a transacting section to receive or disburse the notes therethrough. A portion of the circulation path is in communication with the disbursing box for receiving the notes disbursed from the disbursing box. Another portion of the circulation path is in communication with a note receiving box. A discrimination section is provided in the circulation path to discriminate the notes received or the notes disbursed. In the disbursing mode, when an abnormal note is found by discrimination, all the notes are discriminated again by passing the notes through the discrimination section via the circulation path.

By the use of the device of the invention, the accumulating wheels are swung forcibly and simultaneously to the upper retracted positions and swung independently to the lower accumulation positions. The present invention provides a device for securely holding stacked bank notes in a bank note stacker box. The device is to be assembled in an automatic money depositing and disbursing machine, and comprises a combination of a stopper and a push cover having an operation plate fitted with a frictional member. The stopper is swingably supported by the box to be held normally at the position to constrain the fore edges of the stacked bank notes, to be swung to the position to release the fore edges of the bank notes at the commencement of the operation of sucking and pulling out the notes from the box, to be restored to the normal constraining position to prevent the remaining notes from being pulled out of the box at the termination of the operation of sucking and pulling out the notes, and to be held at a position to scrape off the bank notes conveyed by and accumulating wheel while being inserted below respective paddles of the accumulating wheel to let them fall down into the box during the operation of accumulating and stacking bank notes into the box. The push cover has the operation plate adapted to be set to the closed position to push the aft end portion of the stacked notes during the operation of sucking and pulling out the notes from the box to ensure separation of the sucked uppermost note by the action of the fitted frictional member, and adapted to be set to the open position during the operation of accumulating and stacking bank notes. Further proposed is a front cover which is co-operatively associated with the stopper such that it locks the fore end portion of the stopper to prevent the same from opening when the box is disassembled from the machine body of the automatic money depositing and disbursing machine.

An automatic money receiving and disbursing machine has two dealing openings through one of which the notes are received in the machine or disbursed from the machine. A discriminating section is provided for discriminating the received notes or the disbursed notes. Discrimination made through the discriminating section is made in a high grade or in a low grade. Two accumulating sections are provided between two dealing openings on a delivery section. These accumulating sections are used to temporarily store the notes.
