A resin molded product is provided and capable of increasing a degree of freedom of a shape compared to prior arts, further provided with increased durability against environmental changes and improved reliability, a manufacturing method thereof, and a wavelength conversion member and an illumination member. The resin molded product is implemented by molding resin in which quantum dots are dispersed. The resin preferably contains a dispersant composed of metal soap. For example, a wavelength conversion bar (fluorescent bar) interposed between a light-emitting device such as an LED and a light-guiding board is molded using quantum-dot-containing resin.

A method of producing a wavelength converting member is provided. The method includes forming a quantum dot layer on a bottom organic layer, and forming a top organic layer on the quantum dot layer. The quantum dot layer includes quantum dots. A moisture vapor transmission rate of the top organic layer and the bottom organic layer is at least 0.006 g/(m&#xb7;day) and less than 9 g/(m&#xb7;day).

A probe portion is provided with a sensor portion which has a laser diode generating laser light, a photodiode receiving light, and a sensor housing having a contact surface contacting a subject and which irradiates a subject with the laser light generated by the laser diode through the contact surface, receives reflected light from the subject in the photodiode, and outputs a signal relating to the received light amount, a holding portion holding the sensor housing so as to be movable in an up-and-down direction crossing the contact surface, and a coil spring absorbing and transmitting external force applied to the holding portion to the sensor portion.

Particularly provided is a method and a system for screening nanoparticles which allow effective search of conditions for surface modification of nanoparticles and reduction in the time, the labor, and the amount of a sample required for the surface modification compared with conventional techniques. The method for screening nanoparticles includes the steps of: dividing a nanoparticle suspension for a respective plurality of containers provided in a containment receptacle; performing surface modification on nanoparticles under different conditions for the respective containers; preparing evaluation samples by adding a dispersion medium into each container and mixing the nanoparticles and the dispersion medium; and performing evaluation on the evaluation sample in each container by optical analysis.

Method and system for screening nanoparticle, and nanoparticle and method of producing the same

A quantum dot has a property that, when subjected to a GC-MS qualitative analysis at 350&#xb0; C., octadecene (ODE) is present while oleylamine (OLA) is absent. A light emitting apparatus has a fluorescent layer covering and disposed immediately above a light emitting side of a light emitting device. The fluorescent layer, which is disposed immediately above the light emitting device, is formed of a resin with quantum dots dispersed therein. Deteriorations of light emission intensities at respective RGB peak wavelengths of the light emitting device after light emission for 1000 hours at 85&#xb0; C. are all within 30% of a light emission intensity of the light emitting device before the light emission. Black discoloration caused by the deteriorations of the light emission intensities at the respective RGB peak wavelengths of the light emitting device does not occur in the resin.

Further, the quantum dot of the invention is characterized in that oleylamine (OLA) is not observed in GC-MS qualitative analysis at 350&#xb0; C.

A wavelength conversion member having quantum dots is provided. The wavelength conversion member includes a quantum dot layer including quantum dots, and an organic film on a surface of the quantum dot layer. The quantum dot layer includes a first layer disposed on a first side of the wavelength conversion member that is closest to a light emitting device or on a light input surface side, and a second layer disposed on a second side of the wavelength conversion member that is farthest from the light emitting device or on a light output surface side. A light scattering agent is included in the first layer and the second layer. The quantum dots are not included in the first layer and are included in the second layer.

There is provided a high-efficiency and high-definition liquid crystal display device in which a white light source is constituted by using a fluorescent substance composed of a quantum dot having a minute particle size, and an LED light-emitting element, light from the light source is allowed to be incident from one lateral surface of a backlight provided on a rear surface of the liquid crystal display device, and thus an amount of the quantum dot fluorescent substance that is used is reduced, and the thickness of the liquid crystal display device is made smaller as a whole.

To provide a wavelength converting member that allows for improved yield, in which air bubbles can be prevented from being left in a resin containing a wavelength converting material; a light emitting device, a light emitting element, a light source unit, a display device, and a light guide member using the wavelength converting member; and a method of producing the wavelength converting member. A wavelength converting member has a receptacle provided with a receiving space; and a molding containing a wavelength converting material, placed in the receiving space. This allows air bubbles from being left in the wavelength converting material and improves the yield.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a wavelength conversion member capable of appropriately performing color conversion compared to the prior arts and a light-emitting apparatus, a light-emitting element, a light source apparatus, and a display apparatus using the wavelength conversion member. To provide a light guide member which has less components than conventional ones and has stable wavelength conversion efficiency; and a light source unit using the light guide member. A light guide member includes: a light guide plate; a receiving space formed in the light guide plate to face a light entrance plane; and a wavelength converting material placed in the receiving space. With the use of the light guide member, the number of components can be reduced and stable wavelength conversion efficiency can be achieved. Further, the production process can be facilitated and the production cost can be reduced.

The wavelength converting member includes: a receptacle including a light entrance plane and a light exit plane opposite to the light entrance plane and provided with a receiving space inside the light entrance plane and the light exit plane; and a wavelength conversion layer having quantum dots that is placed in the receiving space. The distance between the light entrance plane and the wavelength conversion layer is longer than the distance between the light exit plane and the wavelength conversion layer.
