An automotive arithmetic device includes circuitry that calculates a first candidate route based on a vehicle external environment estimated using deep learning; sets a static safe area (SA) based on a result of recognition of a target object outside a vehicle according to a predetermined rule; and determines a target motion of the motor vehicle. The circuitry selects the first candidate route as a travel route of the motor vehicle under a condition the first candidate route is entirely within the static safe area (SA), and does not select the first candidate route as the travel route of the motor vehicle when the first candidate route at least partially deviates from the static safe area (SA).

An automotive arithmetic system includes a main arithmetic unit that generates a travel route using deep learning based on an output from a vehicle external information acquisition device; an auxiliary arithmetic unit that generates a rule-based travel route in a free space without using deep learning; a safe route generation unit that generates a safe route, which is a route that the motor vehicle takes until the motor vehicle stops at a safe stop position; and an override processing unit that prioritizes one of the travel route generated by the main arithmetic unit, the rule-based travel route generated by the auxiliary arithmetic unit, or the safe route generated by the safe route generation unit, and determines a target motion of the motor vehicle so that the motor vehicle travels on the prioritized route.

Arithmetic operation system for vehicles

A vehicle travel control device includes computation circuitry, and a device controller that controls actuation of a traveling device mounted on a vehicle, based on a result from the computation circuitry. The computation circuitry identifies a vehicle outdoor environment based on an output from image circuitry that acquires image information of vehicle outdoor environment, sets a route on which the vehicle is to travel, in accordance with the vehicle outdoor environment previously identified, determines a target motion of the vehicle to follow the route previously set, calculates a target physical quantity to be executed by the traveling device to achieve the target motion previously determined, and calculates a controlled variable of the traveling device such that the target physical quantity calculated is achieved, and the device controller outputs a control signal to the traveling device so as to control the traveling device to control a motion of the vehicle.

Vehicle travel control device

A vehicle control device includes a plurality of IC units, while maintaining the operational reliability. The vehicle control device includes an IC unit for performing image processing on outputs from cameras; an IC unit for performing recognition processing of an external environment of the vehicle; and an IC unit for performing judgment processing for cruise control of the vehicle. A control flow is provided so as to allow the IC unit to transmit a control signal to the IC units and. The control flow is provided separately from a data flow configured to transmit the output from the cameras, the image data, and the external environment data.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device includes: a signal processing IC unit that outputs image processing data; a recognition processing IC unit that performs recognition processing of the external environment of a vehicle to output external environment data obtained through the recognition processing; a judgment processing IC unit that performs judgment processing for cruise control of the vehicle; a power management unit capable of controlling an on or off state of a recognition function of the external environment of the vehicle in the recognition processing IC unit according to the conditions of the vehicle; and a bypass path for enabling data communications from the signal processing IC unit to the judgment processing IC unit without performing the recognition processing of the external environment of the vehicle by the recognition processing IC unit.

A signal processing IC unit performs image processing with respect to an output from a camera. A recognition processing IC unit performs recognition processing based on the output from the signal processing IC unit. A control IC unit outputs a control signal based on the output from the recognition processing IC unit. A first terminal is electrically connected to the recognition processing IC unit. A second terminal is electrically connected to the control IC unit. The signal processing IC unit, the recognition processing IC unit, and the control IC unit are disposed on a board. The first terminal and the second terminal are provided on an edge portion of the board.
