In a monitoring system, when a monitoring display instruction is received from a smartphone, a master device transmits an image transmission request to a plurality of cameras, each of the cameras transmits image data obtained by an image capturing unit to the master device in response to the image transmission request from the master device, the master device generates a plurality of separate images in order to display images from the plurality of cameras on a single screen in a distributed manner, and transmits image data of a monitoring screen of the plurality of separate images to the smartphone, and the smartphone includes a display/input unit and displays the monitoring screen of the plurality of separate images transmitted from the master device on the display/input unit.

Disclosed is cordless telephone equipment allowing various kinds of data stored in a mobile telephone to be stored in a cordless handset in a state usable therein, without provision of a new device thereto. A handset transfer-data conversion section that executes a predetermined conversion process according to a type of handset transfer-data stored in a storage section. Specifically, the handset transfer-data conversion section converts an audio format of ringtone data according to a use CODEC of a cordless handset. In addition, the handset transfer-data conversion section converts an image size of wallpaper data into a size reproducible in the cordless handset. Further, the handset transfer-data conversion section converts an image size of image data of the other party included in telephone directory data into a size reproducible in the cordless handset.

A cordless phone apparatus is provided, which includes one or more slave devices and a master device. The master device includes: i) a LAN transmitter configured to transmit slave device information to a wireless IP terminal via a wireless LAN, wherein the slave device information includes identification information of each slave device registered to the master device, ii) a receiver configured to receive from the wireless IP terminal selection of the identification information of a destination slave device and selection of transfer data including at least one of ringtone data, wallpaper data, and phone book data, iii) a transfer data converter configured to convert at least one of the ringtone data, wallpaper data, and phone book data included in the transfer data into a data format usable in the destination slave device, and iv) a cordless phone transmitter configured to transmit the converted transfer data to the destination slave device.

In a content-receiving apparatus, when a transmission destination chooses a specific television channel using a receiving side input unit, a receiving side control unit reproduces contents according to the reproduction control information. An apparatus for embedding information in a signal includes a band dividing device, a block divider, a quantization portion, a signal replacement portion, a mean difference addition portion, a mean calculation portion, and a band synthesis portion. The band dividing device divides the signal into transform coefficients over a plurality of frequency bands. The block divider divides one frequency band into a plurality of blocks in accordance with a previously determined block size. The quantization portion calculates for each block, a mean value M of the transform coefficients in the block, and subjects the mean value M to linear quantization, using a previously determined quantization step-size Q to calculate a quantization value. The signal replacement portion replaces the quantization value for each block, on the basis of the quantization value and the value of the information to be embedded. The mean difference addition portion subjects the replaced quantization value, for each block, to inverse linear quantization using the quantization step-size Q to calculate a mean value M&prime;, and adds a difference DM between the mean value M&prime; and the mean value M to all the transform coefficients in the block. The mean calculation portion calculates a mean value LM of the transform coefficients in the frequency band after the addition of the difference DM. The band synthesis portion reconstructs a signal in which the information has been embedded using the frequency band after the addition of the difference DM and the other frequency bands.
