Methods for copying optical information are disclosed. The methods comprise the steps of disposing a master mask with a tracking signal or other information recorded therein over an optical memory material comprised of heat mode recording material which can be thermally altered in order to deform or remove the material upon the application of an energy beam, permitting recording on the altered recording material and irradiating the master disk with flash light for a period of 1 microsecond or less, or in the alternative, scanning with a laser beam focused to a spot having a diameter of at least 10 .mu.m on the master mask with the exposure time at each area of the optical memory material being preferably 1 microsecond or less.

Method for copying optical information

In a method for recording information by irradiating an optical information recording material comprising a heat mode recording layer comprising a metal on a base with a light beam, the method for recording optical information in which said heat mode recording layer consists of a metal and at least one metal compound selected from metal oxides and metal sulfides and the proportion of the amount of the metal to that of said metal compound increases or decreases in the direction of the thickness of the layer, said recording layer having a layer comprising of mixture of at least one of the metal and at least one of the metal compound, in which irradiation with the light beam is conducted from the side where the proportion of the metal in the recording layer is smaller, and in which melting and removing are conducted until the difference in reflectance of the light between the non-recorded area and the recorded area reaches an extent which permits reading by light. The method permits highly sensitive recording by a light beam of a lower energy and can afford a record of information suitable for reflex reading.

Method for recording light information

An optical information recording material which comprises a substrate having thereon a heat mode recording layer made of a metal and a metal compound that increases the sensitivity of said recording layer and decreases the reflectivity of said recording layer, a reflecting layer made of a metal, and a heat insulating layer interposed between said recording layer and said reflecting layer. The material makes it possible to record information at high sensitivity and read recorded information by reflected light at high contrast.

Optical information recording material

A light information recording medium is disclosed. The medium is comprised of a support which has transparency with respect to light. The support has coated thereon a light sensitive recording layer which contains SiO.sub.2 and In at the SiO.sub.2 content of 10 to 35 vol. % based on the total volume of SiO.sub.2 and In. The recording medium can be used for the recording and reading of the information recorded thereon by striking the medium with laser light from the support side. The recording medium can be used as an optical disk memory having excellent recording sensitivity with respect to laser light, long preservability and high resolving power as well and high S/N ratio.

Thermal recording materials comprising a thermal recording layer provided on a base, which do not deteriorate with the passage of time due to moisture or oxygen in the air, are disclosed, wherein a stabilizing film composed of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of In, Al, Ag, Au, Rh, Pd, Ir and Pt is provided on at least one face of the recording layer and the film has a thickness of 20 to 100 .ANG..

Thermal recording materials

An optical information recording medium is disclosed. The medium is comprised of a plastic substrate made of acrylic resin, an undercoating comprised at least one of polyvinyl pyrrolidone and polyvinyl formal on the substrate, and a heat mode recording layer comprised of metal on the undercoating. The recording medium has improved adhesion between the recording layer and the substrate without decreasing the sensitivity of the recording layer.

Optical information recording medium

A multicolor solid image pickup element having bonding pat portions is prepared by an on-wafer method utilizing a silver halide photographic emulsion. A solvent permeating preventing layer is formed on a solid image pickup element base plate having an array of image elements. A silver halide emulsion layer is then formed in the layer, and the emulsion layer is removed at the portions corresponding to the bonding pat portions of the base plate. A micro color filter composed of two or more color separation filter elements is then formed in the emulsion layer by applying thereto a repeating pattern exposure, followed by color development. Each of the color filter elements corresponds to each image element, and a protective layer is formed on the whole surface of the base plate. The protective layer and the solvent permeation preventing layer are then successively removed at the portions corresponding to the bonding pat portions.

Process of producing color solid image pickup element base plates

A multicolor solid image pickup element base plate having bonding pat portions is produced by an on-wafer method utilizing a silver halide photographic emulsion. A solvent permeation preventing layer is formed on a solid image pickup element base plate having an array of a number of image elements. A silver halide emulsion layer is formed on that layer. A micro color filter composed of two or more color separation filter elements is then formed on the emulsion layer. The filter is formed by repeatedly applying a pattern exposure and color development onto the emulsion layer. A protective layer is formed over the entire surface of the base plate. The protective layer, silver halide emulsion layer, and solvent permeation preventing layer are then successively removed. Blackened silver portions may be formed in the emulsion layer at portions corresponding to bonding pat portions prior to the formation of the protective layer by applying thereto a pattern exposure followed by black and white development.

Photopolymerizable composition and recording materials utilizing the same

In a photoresist material comprising a support having formed thereon a layer of a photopolymerizable composition comprising a film forming polymer, a monomer having at least one addition polymerizable unsaturated bond, and a photopolymerization initiator, the adhesive property and the light-sensitivity of the layer of the photopolymerizable composition are improved by incorporating a rosin tackifier in the layer.

A photopolymerizable composition having improved thermal stability comprising (a) a polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (b) an initiator represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Z represents the non-metallic atoms necessary to complete a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic nucleus; R.sup.1 represents an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group; and R.sup.2 represents an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, or a thienyl group; and (c) a chlorinated polyolefin as a binder and additionally containing (d) about 1 to about 30% by weight of an epoxy compound.

A recording material comprising a support, a layer of a light-sensitive composition on the support, and a transparent film on the layer of the light-sensitive composition wherein the light-sensitive composition comprises (a) a monomer containing at least two addition polymerizable unsaturated bonds and having a boiling point of at least 100.degree. C, (b) polyvinyl butyral, and (c) a photopolymerization initiator represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is an alkyl group which may be substituted or a vinyl-methyl group, R.sub.2 is an alkyl group, aryl group, or thienyl group, and Z is a group of non-metallic atoms required for forming a heterocyclic ring. After the recording material is imagewise exposed to light, the transparent film is peeled off while heating at about 70.degree. to 150.degree. An image-wise light-sensitive composition containing (a) an organic polymer compound containing chlorine; (b) a coloring matter forming compound represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 through R.sup.4 each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an aryl group, and R.sup.5 to R.sup.6 each present a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 can combine with each other to form a 5- or 6-membered carbon ring, and (c) a liquid capable of dissolving said organic polymer compound and coloring matter-forming compound.
