The present disclosure provides a conjugate comprising an affinity agent, a branched linker, and two or more photoisomerizable regulators. The present disclosure provides compositions comprising the conjugate, as well as devices comprising the compositions. The present disclosure provides methods for enhancing visual function, the methods comprising administering the conjugate to an individual in need thereof.

Compositions and methods for enhancing visual function

The present disclosure provides a method of restoring or enhancing visual function in an individual, the method comprising administering to the individual a nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding one or more of a medium wavelength cone opsin (MW-opsin), a long wavelength cone opsin (LW-opsin), and a short wavelength cone opsin (SW-opsin). One or more of the MW-opsin, LW-opsin, and SW-opsin is expressed in a retinal cell in the individual, thereby restoring or enhancing visual function.

The present invention provides methods for culturing neuronal cells for transplantation into a subject. The methods include culturing neuronal cells with microparticles to provide a microparticle and neuronal cell culture composition, wherein the microparticles are coated with a compound that provides for attachment of neuronal cells. Photoreactive regulator of glutamate receptor function and methods of use thereof

A chimeric protein sensor including an optically active polypeptide linked to a responsive polypeptide, or responsive fragment thereof, which undergoes a change in response to a cell signaling event, wherein an optical property of the sensor is altered in response to the change in the responsive polypeptide, or responsive fragment thereof is provided, as well as nucleic acid sequences encoding the chimeric protein sensor. The chimeric protein sensor includes an optically active polypeptide or fragment thereof, such as green fluorescent protein (GFP), for measuring cellular events in vivo.

The invention provides methods and compositions relating to odorant receptors, including a general expression cloning methodology which is useful for identifying novel G protein-coupled receptors and a novel family of odorant receptors and related nucleic acids, ligands, agonists and antagonists. These compositions provide a wide variety of applications such as screening for related receptors, and by modulating the function of the disclosed receptors by modulating their expression or contacting them with agonists, antagonist or ligands modulating reproductive/sexual and non-sexual social behaviors mediated via the olfactory system, reproductive physiologies and olfactory system regulated feeding behaviors, migratory behaviors and events such as conception, implantation, estrous and menstruation.

Odorant receptors

The invention provides protein-based sensors which report changes at a cell surface membrane. These sensors comprise an endogenous cell surface protein having a post-translationally generated luminescer at a predetermined residue. In operation, the protein adopts one of a plurality of different interconvertable signal-dependent conformations, whereunder the luminescer provides corresponding different luminescence. The cells comprise transgenes encoding the protein sensor which is translated from such transgenes by the host cell's machinery with natural amino acids and expressed on the cell surface. After surface expression, the cell is contacted with a luminescer generating reagent which generates a luminescer at a predetermined residue of the protein. A wide variety of luminescers and chemistries for generating the selected luminescer at the target residue of the sensor protein may be used.
