Disclosed is a system designed for providing immediate treatment in medical emergency situations effecting respiratory, cardiac, and/or central nervous system functions. For non-limiting examples, the system may also be used for conditions such as trauma and chronic conditions. The main goal of the system is to provide a person who experiences a medical emergency with personalized treatment that is as close as possible to the treatment that he/she would receive in an emergency room beginning from the moment the event occurs.

System for immediate personalized treatment of a patient in a medical emergency

An envelope is comprised of two sheets of material that are placed one on top of each other with their interior sides facing each other with their edges sealed to each other with an adhesive to form an airtight enclosure. The envelope has at least one medical patch inside it that is attached to the interior side of at least one of the sheets and a layer of medical grade pressure sensitive adhesive surrounding the at least one medical patch. The pressure sensitive adhesive is applied to a part of the surface of the interior side of the sheet in order to attach the sheet of material and the at least one medical patch to the body of a patient. The medical patch can be an electrode for measuring a patient's vital signs or delivering an electric shock or a transdermal patch for delivering a drug to a patient.

Described is a wearable device that combines a mechanism which is configured for modifying a head angle of the subject when in the supine position in order to achieve a head tilt position and a mechanism for causing a forward movement of the mandibles in order to obtain an optimal open airway in a subject. Embodiments of the device are configured to be attached to a bed, stretcher, or other flat surface.

Device for optimal airway opening

Disclosed is a system that includes both an Airway and Ventilation device (AV) and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device. The system is provided with components for assisting only minimally trained persons to operate it in emergency situations involving respiratory failure and/or cardiac arrhythmias. The system includes one or both of a mask for applying non-invasive ventilation and a ventilation tube for applying invasive ventilation.

System and method for providing ventilation

A cervical collar for ensuring an open airway has an occipital portion, right and left mandible engaging sections extending from the occipital portion, and right and left sternum engaging portions extending from the occipital portion. Each of the mandible engaging sections has an adjustable airway opening member for assuring opening of the airway. In one embodiment, each of the mandible engaging sections has a baseplate, and a carrier for the airway opening member which is controllably displaceable along a groove formed in the baseplate. A strap is attachable to an anterior portion of each baseplate, so that right and left straps are simultaneously tensionable and fastenable together on the chin of a subject to ensure symmetric stabilization. The anterior triangle of the neck is unobstructed following fastening together of the straps and of the sternum engaging portions, to facilitate monitoring of various throat related clinical conditions following a traumatic event.

Airway system with immobilization

A system for providing decision-assisted critical care to a patient in medical emergency situations in an out of hospital setting includes: a ventilator; an Automated External Defibrillator that includes primary electrocardiogram (ECG) sensors configured as chest pads that can be connected to the chest of the patient and to sense ECG and to deliver an electric shock to the patient's heart; at least one secondary ECG sensor connected at a location other than the chest configured to sense ECG but not to deliver electric shock; and a controller configured, upon detection of shockable cardiac arrhythmias by at least one of said at least one secondary ECG sensors, to (a) instruct a caregiver to place the chest pads on the chest of the patient and to activate the AED, or (b) to automatically activate the AED if the chest pads are already in place on the chest of the patient.

System for controlled defibrillation and ventilation

A helmet mounted safety device comprises right and left mandible engaging sections. Each of the mandible engaging sections comprises an adjustable airway opening member for assuring opening of the airway, and is connected, whether integrally or detachably, to a side portion within an interior of a helmet in order to facilitate engagement with the mandible of a wearer of the helmet upon demand. A helmet comprising the right and left mandible engaging sections is also taught, and further comprises in one embodiment a neck stabilizing cervical support that includes an occipital portion and two sternocleidomastoid (SCM) portions between which the occipital portion is interposed, for engaging the SCM muscle at the side of the neck.

Airway opening device for helmets and a helmet comprising the same

A system that includes both an Airway and Ventilation device (AV) and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device is described. The system allows minimally trained persons to operate it in emergency situations involving respiratory failure and/or cardiac arrhythmias. An integral part of the AV of the system is a face mask manufactured in two parts: a face attachment unit configured to attach to the patient's face and a mask body that is releasably connected to the face attachment unit by a quick release mechanism allowing quick removal of the mask body from the face attachment unit, leaving only the face attachment unit attached to the patients' face, in order to address urgencies such as vomiting. After vomiting ceases and is cleared, then the mask body may be reattached to continue ventilation.

System and method for providing noninvasive ventilation

A portable resuscitation system is provided. The system includes a housing for enclosing a ventilation device and a vital signs tracking device. The housing is anatomically designed for use as a neck support for opening an airway of a subject in a supine position and optionally includes mechanism for modifying the height or angle of the neck support.
