Systems and methods for improving operational efficiency of a radio frequency system, which includes a low noise amplifier coupled to an antenna that generates an analog electrical signal based on received electromagnetic waves. The low noise amplifier includes a positive input transistor with a first drain, a negative input transistor with a second drain, a first data branch coupled between the first and second drains, and a second data branch coupled between the first drain and second drains. The first data branch supplies a first current modulated signal generated based on the analog electrical signal when the radio frequency system expects the received electromagnetic waves to include data indicated using a first communication protocol. The second data branch supplies a second current modulated signal generated based on the analog electrical signal when the radio frequency system expects the received electromagnetic waves to include data indicated using a second communication protocol.

Radio frequency transceiver front-end systems and methods

Systems and method provided herein relate to reducing distortion of signals introduced by components on a phase path of a radio frequency system polar architecture. To reduce phase path distortion, a pre-distortion is introduced prior to a distortion caused by the components on the phase path. The pre-distortion in conjunction with the component distortion results in a transmission signal that forms its expected shape.

Radio frequency systems and methods for polar phase distortion calibration

Systems and method for improving operation of a radio frequency system are provided. One embodiment includes a switching power amplifier that outputs an amplified analog electrical signal based on an input electrical signal and voltage of an envelope voltage supply rail. The switching power amplifier includes a first transistor with a gate that receives the input electrical signal, a source electrically coupled to the envelope voltage supply rail, and a drain electrically coupled to an output of the switching power amplifier; a second transistor with a gate that receives the input electrical signal, a source electrically coupled to ground, and a drain electrically coupled to the output; and a third transistor with a gate that receives the input electrical signal, a drain electrically coupled to the envelope voltage supply rail, and a source electrically coupled to an output of another switching power amplifier.

Radio frequency system switching power amplifier systems and methods

Systems and method for improving operation of a radio frequency system are provided. One embodiment provides a radio frequency system that includes a first amplifier unit with a first logic gate, which receives an input analog electrical signal and a first bit of an amplifier control signal that enables or disables the first amplifier unit, and a first switching power amplifier that generates a first output analog electrical signal when enabled. The radio frequency system further includes a second amplifier unit with a second logic gate, which receives the input analog electrical signal and a second bit of the amplifier control signal that enables or disables the second amplifier unit, and a second switching power amplifier that generates a second output analog electrical signal when enabled. The first amplifier unit and the second amplifier unit are electrically coupled to enable the first output analog electrical signal and the second output analog electrical signal to be combined.

Radio frequency system hybrid power amplifier systems and methods

Systems and method for improving operation of a radio frequency system are provided. One embodiment describes a radio frequency system, which includes a first switching power amplifier that outputs an amplified analog electrical signal based on a first input analog electrical signal and voltage of an envelope voltage supply rail. The first switching power amplifier includes a first transistor with a gate that receives the first input analog electrical signal, a source that is electrically coupled to the envelope voltage supply rail, and a drain that is electrically coupled to an output of the first switching power amplifier; a second transistor with a gate that receives the first input analog electrical signal, a source electrically coupled to ground, and a drain electrically coupled to the output of the first switching power amplifier; and a third transistor with a gate that receives the first input analog electrical signal, a drain electrically coupled to the envelope voltage supply rail, and a source electrically coupled to an output of a second switching power amplifier.
