A multiphase particulate nanocomposite material comprising, as determined by X-ray diffraction: a monoclinic CuO crystalline phase; an orthorhombic CaBOcrystalline phase; an orthorhombic PbO crystalline phase; an orthorhombic PbO(BO)crystalline phase; a tetragonal PbOcrystalline phase, and, a PbBOcrystalline phase. The multiphase particulate nanocomposite material has, based on the total number of atoms in the nanocomposite material: an atomic concentration of boron (B) is from about 1 to about 10 atom %; an atomic concentration of calcium (Ca) is from about 5 to about 15 atom %; an atomic concentration of copper (Cu) is from about 5 to about 15 atom %; and, an atomic concentration of lead (Pb) is from about 5 to about 15 atom %.

CaB2O4/PbO/CuO/Pb3O4/PbB2O4/Pb4O(BO3)2 nanocomposite material and method of making

A CaFeO/MgO/CaO/C nanocomposite includes elemental carbon (C), an orthorhombic calcium iron oxide (CaFeO) crystalline phase, a cubic magnesium oxide (MgO) crystalline phase, and a cubic calcium oxide (CaO) crystalline phase.

Calcium iron oxide/magnesium oxide/calcium oxide/carbon nanocomposite material

A particulate CaPbO/PbO/CoO/C nanocomposite material comprising, as determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD): elemental carbon (C); an orthorhombic lead oxide (PbO) crystalline phase; an orthorhombic calcium lead oxide (CaPbO) crystalline phase; and, a cubic cobalt oxide (CoO) crystalline phase. The particulate nanocomposite material is characterized by having, based on the total number of atoms in the nanocomposite material: an atomic concentration of carbon of from about 1 atomic percent (at. %) to about 10 at. %; an atomic concentration of lead (Pb) of from about 5 at. % to about 15 at. %; an atomic concentration of calcium (Ca) of from about 10 at. % to about 25 at. %; and, an atomic concentration of cobalt (Co) of from about 10 at. % to about 20 at. %.

Multicomponent nanocomposite material

A PbO/CoO/MgO nanocomposite material includes an orthorhombic PbO crystalline phase, a cubic CoOcrystalline phase, and a cubic MgO crystalline phase. The average crystallite size of the PbO/CoO/MgO nanocomposite material is in a range from 75 to 90 nm.

Fabrication of PbO/CoO/MgO nanocomposite material using Pechini sol-gel method

A particulate nanocomposite material comprising, as determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD): elemental carbon (C); elemental nickel (Ni) in a cubic crystalline phase; a cubic nickel oxide (NiO) crystalline phase; an orthorhombic calcium borate (CaBO) crystalline phase; and, a magnesium borate (MgBO) crystalline phase. The porous particulate nanocomposite is characterized in that, based on the total number of atoms in the particulate nanocomposite material: the atomic concentration of carbon is from about 1 atomic percent (at. %) to about 10 at. %; the atomic concentration of nickel is from about 1 at. % to about 10 at. %; the atomic concentration of boron (B) is from about 1 at. % to about 10 at. %; the atomic concentration of magnesium (Mg) is from about 5 at. % to about 15 at. %; and, the atomic concentration of calcium (Ca) is from about 1 at. % to about 10 at. %.

Particulate nanocomposite material

A method of remediating a contaminated aqueous medium includes contacting the aqueous medium with an amount of a particulate nanocomposite material that contains elemental carbon (C); an orthorhombic titanium dioxide (TiO); a tetragonal TiOcrystalline phase; a cubic cadmium oxide (CdO) crystalline phase; a hexagonal magnesium titanate (MgTiO) crystalline phase; and, an orthorhombic magnesium titanate oxide (MgTiO). Based on the total number of atoms in the nanocomposite material and as determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, the nanocomposite material has an atomic concentration of carbon (C) of from about 1 atomic percent (at. %) to about 5 at. %; an atomic concentration of magnesium (Mg) of from about 5 to about 15 at. %; an atomic concentration of titanium (Ti) of from about 15 to about 30 at. %; and, an atomic concentration of cadmium (Cd) of from about 1 to about 10 at. %.

Nanocomposite for wastewater treatment

An amorphous silica/cubic CoO/cubic NiO/C nanocomposite material includes an amorphous Si phase, a cubic CoOphase and a cubic NiO phase. Further, the amorphous silica/cubic CoO/cubic NiO/C nanocomposite material has a granular morphology with an average grain size in a range from 0.5 to 2.5 μm, where the granular morphology includes nanoscale particles aggregated into the granular morphology. Still further, the nanoscale particles have an average particle diameter in a range from 30 to 90 nm. Furthermore, the amorphous silica/cubic CoO/cubic NiO/C nanocomposite material has an adsorption capacity for ciprofloxacin of greater than or equal to 170 mg/g.

Amorphous silica/cubic CoO/cubic NiO/C nanocomposite and method of preparation thereof

A porous particulate nanocomposite material comprising, as determined by X-ray diffraction: carbon; an orthorhombic CaTiOcrystalline phase; and, a rhombohedral MgTiOcrystalline phase. Based on the total number of atoms in the nanocomposite material and as determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX): the atomic concentration of carbon (C) is from about 1 to about 5 atom % (at. %); the atomic concentration of titanium (Ti) is from about 20 to about 35 at. %; the atomic concentration of magnesium (Mg) is from about 5 to about 15 at. %; and, the atomic concentration of calcium (Ca) is from about 5 to about 15 at. %.

Calcium titanate/magnesium titanate/carbon-based nanocomposite

A porous particulate nanocomposite material includes, as determined by X-ray diffraction, an orthorhombic CaBOcrystalline phase; an orthorhombic Co(BO)crystalline phase; an orthorhombic PbOcrystalline phase; and, a cubic CoOcrystalline phase. The porous particulate nanocomposite material is in the form of particles having a matrix phase with a smooth surface and in which sharp-edged plates are embedded and protrude.

Fabrication of CaB2O4/Co3(BO3)2/PbO2/Co3O4 nanocomposite material using Pechini sol-gel method

A NiO/MgO/CaCO/Ca(OH)/C nanocomposite material includes a monoclinic nickel oxide (NiO) phase, a cubic magnesium oxide (MgO) phase, a hexagonal calcium carbonate (CaCO) phase, and a hexagonal calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)) phase. The NiO/MgO/CaCO/Ca(OH)/C nanocomposite material has a granular morphology including spherical particles having an average particle diameter in a range from 10 nanometer (nm) to 50 nm. Further, a CaO/NiO/MgNiO/Ca(OH)/C nanocomposite material includes cubic CaO phases, cubic NiO phases, cubic MgNiO phases, and hexagonal Ca(OH)phases. The CaO/NiO/MgNiO/Ca(OH)/C nanocomposite material has a granular morphology including particles having an average particle diameter in a range from 10 nm to 90 nm.

Multiphase structured nanocomposite

A particulate nanocomposite material comprising, as determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD): an orthorhombic CaBOcrystalline phase; a triclinic MnMgBOcrystalline phase; and, a CaBOcrystalline phase. The particulate nanocomposite material has, based on the total number of atoms in the nanocomposite material: an atomic concentration of carbon (C) of from about 0.1 to about 5 atom %; an atomic concentration of calcium (Ca) of from about 5 to about 15 atom %; an atomic concentration of boron (B) of from about 1 to about 10 atom %; an atomic concentration of manganese (Mn) of from about 5 to about 15 atom %; and, an atomic concentration of magnesium (Mg) of from about 5 to about 15 atom %. The particulate nanocomposite material has utility in immobilizing inorganic contaminants disposed in an aqueous medium and in degrading organic pollutants disposed in an aqueous medium.

Nanocomposite for the immobilization or degradation of pollutants

A particulate nanocomposite material comprising, as determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD): elemental carbon (C); an orthorhombic magnesium iron borate (MgFe(BO)O) crystalline phase; an orthorhombic calcium diborate (CaBO) crystalline phase; and, a monoclinic magnesium diborate (MgBO) crystalline phase. The nanocomposite is further characterized in that, based on the total number of atoms in the particulate nanocomposite material and as determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), the atomic concentration of carbon (C) is from about 0.1 atomic percent (atom %) to 5 atom %, the atomic concentration of calcium (Ca) is from about 5 to 15 atom %, the atomic concentration of boron (B) is from about 1 to 10 atom %, the atomic concentration of iron (Fe) is from about 5 to 15 atom %, and the atomic concentration of magnesium (Mg) is from about 5 to 15 atom %.

A MgTiO/MgTiO/tetragonal TiO/orthorhombic TiO/CdO/C nanocomposite material includes an orthorhombic Mg0.6TiOphase; a hexagonal magnesium titanate (MgTiO) phase, a tetragonal titanium dioxide (TiO) phase, a cubic cadmium Oxide (CdO) phase, and an orthorhombic TiOphase. The MgTiO/MgTiO/Tetragonal TiO/Orthorhombic TiO/CdO/C nanocomposite material has a granular morphology including spherical particles having an average particle diameter ranging from 50 nanometer (nm) to 130 nm. Furthermore, a method of production includes calcination of metal precursors.

Nanocomposite material fabrication

A porous particulate nanocomposite material containing, as determined by X-ray diffraction: a PbSiOcrystalline phase; a tetragonal MnOSi crystalline phase; a hexagonal SiOcrystalline phase; and, an orthorhombic SiOcrystalline phase. The porous particulate nanocomposite material, based on the total number of atoms in the nanocomposite material, has an atomic concentration of silicon (Si) of from about 20 to about 35 atom %; an atomic concentration of manganese (Mn) of from about 5 to about 15 atom %; and, an atomic concentration of lead (Pb) of from about 5 to about 15 atom %.

Fabrication of SiO/MnOSi/PbSiOnanocomposites using sol-gel method

An iron titanium oxide (FeTiO)/iron oxide (FeO)/titanium oxide (TiO)/cobalt iron oxide (CoFeO)/carbon (C) nanocomposite material includes orthorhombic FeTiOphases, rhombohedral FeOphases, tetragonal TiOphases and cubic CoFeOphases where the FeTiO/FeO/TiO/CoFeO/C nanocomposite material has a granular morphology including spherical particles having an average particle diameter in a range from 40 to 80 nanometer (nm).
