The linear compressor comprises a shell () which affixes a cylinder () defining a compression chamber () housing a piston (); a linear electric motor () having a fixed part () and a reciprocating movable part (); an actuating means () driven by the movable part (); an elastic means () coupling the actuating means () to the piston (), so that they are reciprocated in phase opposition. A supporting elastic means () connects the actuating means () to the shell () and presents a radial stiffness for supporting the lateral loads actuating on said movable part () and actuating means (), and for minimizing the axial misalignments between the movable part () and the fixed part () of the linear electric motor (), the supporting elastic means () presenting a minimum axial stiffness for allowing the displacement of both the piston () and the actuating means ().

Linear compressor

The linear compressor comprises a shell () which affixes a cylinder () defining a compression chamber () housing a piston (); a linear electric motor () having a fixed part () affixed to the shell () and a reciprocating movable part (); an actuating means () driven by the movable part (); an elastic means () coupling the actuating means () to the piston (), so that they are reciprocated in phase opposition. A supporting elastic means () connects the actuating means () to the shell () and presents a radial rigidity for supporting the lateral loads actuating on said movable part () and actuating means (), and for minimizing the axial misalignments between the movable part () and the fixed part () of the linear electric motor (), the supporting elastic means () presenting a minimum axial rigidity for allowing the displacement of both the piston () and the actuating means ().

A system for actuation in an admission valve of a gas compressor including an admission valve being configured to allow the input of gas inside the cylinder upon the axial movement of the piston in a first axial direction; and a discharge valve configured to allow the output of gas from inside the cylinder upon the axial movement of the piston in a second axial direction opposite to the first axial direction. The system includes at least one actuator element, operatively associated with the admission valve, capable of keeping the admission valve open when the electric motor stops and starts-up. The actuator element is also capable of allowing opening and closing of the admission valve upon the regime of work of the electric motor. The present development also refers to refrigeration equipment which includes the above-mentioned gas compressor.

Valve actuation system for a suction valve of a gas compressor for refrigeration equipment

A sensor assembly for measuring movements of a fluid pump driven by an electric motor, the electric motor connectable to a feed voltage, the sensor assembly comprising an accelerometer electrically connected to a bias circuit, the latter comprising a feed terminal electrically connectable to the feed voltage of the motor and a signal terminal electrically connectable to an external measuring terminal. A fluid pump is also described, comprising a cylinder, a piston, a housing comprising a hermetic terminal and hermetically enclosing the cylinder and the piston, thus forming a hermetic assembly, the piston driven by an electric motor, the electric motor connected to an electric voltage by a pair of voltage terminals associated to the hermetic terminal, the fluid pump comprising a sensor assembly associated to the cylinder comprising a feed terminal connected to one of the voltage terminals and a signal terminal electrically connected to an external measuring circuit.

Sensor assembly, a fluid pump and a cooler

The present invention relates to a system and to a method of controlling a fluid pump, as well as to a linear compressor and a cooler configured to calibrate the respective functioning at the time of the first use or in cases of problems caused by electric or mechanical failures. According to the teachings of the present invention, the fluid pump is provided with a piston-position sensing assembly, the electronic controller monitoring the piston displacement within the respective cylinder by detecting an impact signal. The impact signal is transmitted by the sensing assembly upon occurrence of an impact of the piston with the stroke end, the electronic controller successively incrementing the piston displacement stroke upon a trigger signal as far as the occurrence of the impact to store a maximum value of piston displacement.

The invention refers to a linear compressor, comprising: a shell (); a cylinder () affixed to the shell () and defining a compression chamber (C); a piston () to be displaced in reciprocating movement in the interior of the compression chamber (C) during the operation of the compressor; a linear electric motor () mounted to the shell (); and an actuating means () operatively coupling the piston () to the linear electric motor (), in order to make the latter displace the piston () in a reciprocating movement in the interior of the compression chamber (C), the actuating means () being coupled to the piston () by an elastic means (), so that the actuating means () and the piston () be displaced in phase opposition during the operation of the compressor.

A mounting arrangement for a discharge tube of a hermetic compressor is provided having a hermetic shell presenting a gas outlet and lodging a cylinder block in which is affixed, through screws, a cylinder head defining, internally, a gas discharge chamber, and a discharge tube presenting an inlet end in fluid communication with the gas discharge chamber through an orifice in the cylinder head, and an opposite end coupled to the gas outlet of the shell. The arrangement includes an electrically insulating discharge connector affixed to the cylinder head through one of the screws and receiving and securing the inlet end of the discharge tube.

A position sensor is provided, particularly a sensor applicable to a linear compressor, for detecting the position of the piston and preventing the latter from knocking against the head located at the end of its stroke. More particularly, there is provided a sensor, particularly one that is employable in detecting the position of a piston of a compressor, the piston being axially displaceable inside a hollowed body, the compressor comprising a valve blade, the blade being positioned between the head and the hollowed body, the sensor comprising a probe electrically connected to a control circuit, the probe being capable of detecting the passage of the piston by a point of the hollowed body and signaling this to the control circuit. An associated compressor employing such a sensor is also provided.

A starting system for an electric motor having a main coil and an auxiliary coil which are supplied current by an electric current source in which a switch is connected between the electric current source and the auxiliary coil that has an open condition, in which the auxiliary coil remains de-energized by the electric current, and a closed condition for energization of the auxiliary coil with the electric current. An actuating system is positioned relative to the electric motor to receive the magnetic field produced by the motor main coil upon its energization by the electric current for operation of the electric motor that operates to close the switch in response to the magnetic field produced by the current passing through the motor main coil with an intensity above a determined minimum value, and opens the switch when the current through the main coil produces a magnetic field having an intensity of the determined minimum value.

A reciprocating compressor with a linear motor, comprising a hermetic housing (10), which lodges a cylinder (20), a piston (30); a rod (40), which is coupled to the piston (30) and which is axially displaceable by a linear motor (50); a first supporting means (70) and a second supporting means (80), which are elastically deformable and coupled to the housing (10) and, respectively, to the cylinder (20) and to the rod (40), and which are electromagnetically displaceable in opposite directions, in order to provoke the axial displacement of the cylinder (20) and of the piston-rod assembly (30, 40) between the upper and lower dead point positions.

Reciprocating compressor with a linear motor

A starting device for a single phase induction motor, of the type having a cage type rotor and a stator having at least one main coil and one starting coil, which is connected in series with first and second terminals of an alternating current source. The starting device comprises a relay (RL) having at least one contact, with one of the terminals thereof being connected to the first terminal (1) of the alternating current source (F), while the other terminal of said contact is connected to the terminal of the starting coil (L2); and a coil (B) for actuating the relay; an electronic timer circuit (T), which is connected to the terminals of the coil (B) for actuating the relay (RL), in order to open the contact of the latter by supplying a current to the coil (B) thereof, thereby finishing the starting operation of the motor (M), after a period of time has elapsed from the motor (M) powering up. In case the motor includes a permanent capacitor (CP), said capacitor will be connected in series with a starting coil (L2) between the terminal of the latter and the first terminal ( 1) of the alternating current source.
