Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for signal block mapping are provided. One method includes configuring, by a network node (e.g., base station or eNB), a group of discovery signaling blocks. The method may then include mapping the discovery signaling blocks of the group onto a subframe structure, including the group information into each of the discovery signaling blocks, and transmitting the discovery signaling blocks in the subframe structure.

A method, apparatus, and computer program product modifying the usage of control resources for data transmission by focusing on reducing overhead of the control channel in order to maximize the spectral efficiency by configuring physical resources into two parts for an allocation into control information for the first part, and data for both the first part and the second part or data for only the second part. Data allocation in the first part based is derived based on the data allocation in the second part and the control information allocation in the first part. The number of control symbols within a subframe or transmission time interval is minimized on the downlink control signaling, used mainly for downlink and uplink grant signaling, and for the uplink HARQ ACK/NACK feedback. Where overhead is not the only problem, usage of two symbols is proposed due to the limitations of radio frequency beamforming.

On the usage of control resources for data transmission

A technique may include sending, by a base station to at least one user device, a signal indicating a configuration of at least one guard period, wherein the at least one guard period is provided between subframe portions of a same link direction. According to an example implementation, the at least one guard period may include one or more of: at least one first guard period provided between subframe portions of a same link direction within a subframe, and at least one second guard period provided between subframe portions of a same link direction of different subframes.

In a first subframe, data is sent by a network node in a DL shared channel and a timing indicator is sent in a PDCCH to UE, the timing indicator indicating an offset relative to the first subframe the UE should use in order to determine a second subframe to use to send, in a PUCCH, acknowledgement information for the data received in the DL shared channel of the first subframe. The acknowledgement information is received by the network node from the UE in the PUCCH of the second subframe. The UE receives the data and timing indicator and determines the second subframe using at least the timing indicator. The UE transmits the acknowledgement information in the PUCCH of the second subframe. Apparatus, computer programs and products, and methods are disclosed.

Coexistence of OFDM transmissions with different sampling rates, subcarrier spacing, symbol duration, bandwidths, but a constant FFT size, all with the same integer ratio (downclocking or upclocking) N=2, 4, 8 . . . Now called different numerology. Problem of Time alignment due to the presence of alternating long CP and short CPs in a slot. At the slot level the transmissions are aligned, but not at the symbol level. The application proposes to send after the first symbol for N=1 a so-called Time Alignment Period of same duration for each transmission in order allegedly to allow the network nodes to synchronize their timings or clocks without interfering with the transmission or reception of any symbols or CPs of other transmissions.

Reserving time alignment period for OFDMA communications with different numerology parameters

A frame or a subframe including control information and data is transmitted using orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA). At least one different OFDMA parameter and/or format is applied to said control information than to said data. At a receiver the frame or subframe is processed by taking into account the application of the at least one different OFDMA parameter and/or format.

This document discloses a solution for configuring sub-frames in a cellular communication system. According to an aspect, a method comprises: allocating, in a network node of the cellular communication system, at least one set of available lengths for use in selection of a length of at least one of an uplink control part and a downlink control part of a sub-frame; selecting, in the network node, a length of at least one of the uplink control part and the downlink control part of the sub-frame, the length being selected amongst the at least one set of available lengths, the sub-frame comprising the uplink control part carrying at least one of uplink control information and an uplink reference signal and further comprising the downlink control part carrying at least one of downlink control information and a downlink reference signal; and causing transmission of a message comprising at least one information element indicating the selected length of the at least one of uplink control part and downlink control part of the sub-frame.
