Transmission of delay tolerant data. An apparatus includes a processor configured to classify data, on the basis of its delay requirement, into delay tolerant data and into delay critical data, and to control transmission of the delay tolerant data with a transmitter in such a manner that the transmission of the delay tolerant data is timed to coincide with transmission of the delay critical data.

Transmission of delay tolerant data

An apparatus, including a determining unit for determining one or more applicable radio selections including one or more radio interfaces for use by one or more communication applications, a ranking unit for ranking the applicable radio selections to an order of superiority according to a predefined ranking criterion, and a selecting unit for selecting a radio selection, of the one or more applicable radio selections, for use by the one or more communication applications on the basis of the order of superiority of the radio selections.

Configuring method and apparatus

The method generates a location estimate for a mobile station in a wireless communications network. The method includes receiving first measurement data relating to at least one radio link between the mobile station and a first site, and provides a first distance estimate of the mobile station from the first site based on the first measurement data. Second measurement data is received, relating to at least one radio link between the mobile station and a second site and provides a second distance estimate of the mobile station from the second site. First and second intersection points are determined between a circle centered at the first site of a radius corresponding to the first distance estimate, and a circle centered at the second site of the radius corresponding to the second distance estimate. The first and second intersection points lie on opposite sides of a line passing through the first and second sites. At least one of the first and second intersection points are used in the determination of the location estimate.

System and method for generating a location estimate for a mobile station

A method of providing a location estimate for a mobile station in a wireless communications network. The method of providing the location estimate includes implementing, in parallel, a plurality of different location estimate generation methods, each location generation method generating a location estimate. The method of providing the location estimate also includes selecting one of the location estimates based on predetermined criteria.

Locating mobile terminals

In determining a location estimate for a communications device, at least one first location estimate is determined based on information relating to signals transmitted between the communications device and at least one first antenna of a communications system. At least one second antenna of the communications system is determined, the at least second antenna not used for communication by the communications device. Thereafter, a second location estimate for the communications device is determined based at least on the at least one first location estimate and information relating to the at least one second antenna.

Estimating location of a communications device

According to the present invention the use of a delayed acknowledgment procedure of TCP in a communication network system arranged to transport TCP/IP packets is controlled. A burstiness of received TCP packets transmitted in the communication network system from an entity to a device is monitored and it is decided whether the monitored burstiness meets a predefined condition. On the basis of the decision result the delayed acknowledgment procedure is enabled or disabled.
