A computing device () includes a controller (), a radio unit with an antenna (), detection element () and interface element (). The interface element output, in response to a user actuation, towards detection element () a change in a defined physical characteristic. The detection element () include dielectric material and are located within the computing device spatially separated from the interface element (). The detection element () is configured to detect the change output by the interface element and output to the controller () a signal that corresponds to the change in the defined physical characteristic. The distance from any part of the antenna to a straight line connecting any part of the interface element with any part of the detection element is at some point less than 6 mm.

Small-sized computing device with a radio unit and user interface means

A method and wristop (wrist worn) device for monitoring physical exercise. The wristop device includes a central unit, in which there is a display face and to which a wristband is, or can be attached, sensor means for collecting a hemodynamic signal from the wrist, and a data-processing unit functionally connected to the sensor means, for deriving at least one physiological parameter from the hemodynamic signal. The data-processing unit of the wristop device is arranged to derive from the hemodynamic signal at least one physiological parameter depicting respiration, and further, on the basis of this, to calculate at least one training-effect parameter depending on the person and the exercise. In addition, the device makes it possible to eliminate the use of pulse bands in monitoring the training effect of exercise.

Apparatus and device for performance monitoring

The present invention relates to a method for recognizing and measuring heartbeat in physical training, in which method individual heartbeats are recognized and measured from the electrical signal of the heart, the EKG signal, on the area of waist and/or on the body area below the waist by means of two or more electrodes () integrated to an outfit () or to a part of an outfit, and/or by means of two or more electrodes integrated to one or several wearable sensors, and for calculating various quantities describing the function of the heart. In the method in accordance with the invention, for recognizing and measuring heartbeat, the signals received from the heart are processed and examined with two or more different ways for improving the reliability of calculation and for decreasing the impact of noises.

Method for recognizing the heartbeat and for calculating quantities acquired from the heartbeat

The invention relates to a method and device for detecting the type of physical exercise, in which method the accelerations caused by the exercise of a person are measured by an exercise type detector () in three dimensions and in which characteristics describing the acceleration, so-called membership degree functions, are calculated from the measurement results, by means of which characteristics the type of exercise is detected. In the method according to the invention, only an identifier indicating the type of exercise is saved in the memory of the exercise type detector, for which reason the memory capacity required in the device is small.
