Methods and apparatus for facilitating video search are disclosed. An example apparatus includes one or more processors to execute instructions to process first metadata associated with video to identify the video as corresponding to an episode of a television show, the video made available by a first device. The example one or more processors are to update a database to include first information concerning the episode of the television show based on the first metadata and access second metadata associated with the video, the second metadata collected from a second device. Additionally, the example one or more processors are to process the second metadata to determine second information about the episode of the television show and augment the database with the second information about the episode of the television show.

Facilitating video search

Methods and apparatus for video matching service to offline counterpart are disclosed. An example method includes accessing an address for an online media asset, accessing metadata associated with the online media asset, wherein the metadata includes an asset attribute, determining whether the asset attribute identifies at least one of a cast member or crew member, and matching the online media asset to an offline media asset by prioritizing offline media assets having a matching asset attribute, the offline media asset including at least one of audio or video.

Video matching service to offline counterpart

Methods and apparatus for facilitating video search are disclosed. An example method includes identifying a video, matching the video to a sporting event, and fetching additional information associated with the sporting event. The additional information identifies an athlete associated with the sporting event. The method further includes augmenting a search index entry for the video based at least in part on the additional information associated with the sporting event, and weighting matches to index terms using the additional information differently than matches based on a description of the sporting event.

A method of facilitating video search is disclosed. A video on or linked to by a display page is located. A video search index entry associated with the video is generated, at least in part, using an additional information data, retrieved at least in part programmatically from a location other than the display page.

An address is received for an online asset. A metadata associated with the online asset is gotten. The metadata is used to match the online asset to a corresponding offline media asset.

A method of facilitating media content search is disclosed. A rating data associated with the media content is found, at least in part programmatically, in a location other than a display page that includes a media content or a link to the media content. A method for clustering a set of web search results is disclosed. A first signature is compared based at least in part on an analysis of multimedia content associated with a first web search result with a second signature based at least in part on an analysis of multimedia content associated with a second web search result. The first web search result is clustered with the second web search result based at least in part on the comparison of the first signature with the second signature.

Clustering multimedia search

A method of indexing multimedia content is disclosed. An element associated with a multimedia content is located in a display page. A potential multimedia content data file is identified through automated processing of data associated with the display page. An index data associated with one or more of the following: the display page, the multimedia content, and the potential multimedia content data file, is generated by processing the potential multimedia content data file.
