A vehicle has an operator cab with a wall defining an interior of the operator cab. An opening is formed through the wall of the operator cab, and a port is connected to the wall of the operator cab around the opening. The port includes a mounting structure connected to the wall and a tube member extending from the mounting structure and defining a passage therein, where the passage of the tube member is aligned with the opening. One or more conduits can then extend through the opening and the passage of the tube member. One or more additional openings may be formed through other portions of the wall of the cab, and each such opening may have a port and/or one or more conduits extending through.

The subject invention relates to an assembly and method for attaching a stud to a lamp housing that decreases the overall size of the automotive lamp assembly. The apparatus has a collar molded over a stud. The collar attaches the stud to the lamp housing by being shear welded to the lamp housing. The stud is prevented from rotating about its longitudinal axis, so that it can serve to mount the lamp housing to an automobile.

Shear welded mounting stud assembly

A mounting plug for pivotably connecting a first component to a second component. The mounting plug comprises a ball stud portion comprising a ball and a post. The post comprises means for attaching the ball stud portion to the first component. The mounting plug further comprises a base and a socket chamber integrally molded on top of the base. The socket chamber is adapted to removably and pivotably retain the ball stud portion. The mounting plug further comprises a channel integrally molded to the base adjacent to the socket chamber, with the channel adapted to allow the ball to be inserted there through and into the socket chamber. The mounting plug further comprises a retainer portion integrally molded below the base. The retainer portion comprises at least one tab integrally molded to the retainer portion and adapted to removably secure the socket portion to the second component.

Headlamp mounting plug

A mounting assembly for at least one array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) comprises at least one metal circuit board and mounting bracket. The circuit board has one or more LEDs attached to it and at least one first engaging opening and at least one second engaging opening formed through the circuit board. The first engaging opening is key shaped with a larger portion and a narrowed elongated portion so that engaging surfaces are formed adjacent opposite edges of the narrowed portion. The mounting bracket is formed of a electrically non-conducting material such as plastic with at least one first engaging tab and at least one second engaging tab formed thereon. The first engaging tab is configured to have a narrow portion and a larger portion connected to the outward end of the narrow portion so that there is a gap formed between the edges of the larger portion and the mounting surface. The larger portion is dimensioned to be able to be passed through the larger portion of the first engaging opening but too large to pass through the elongated narrowed portion of the first engaging opening, and the narrow portion is dimensioned to be able to fit into the elongated narrowed portion of the first engaging opening so that the larger portion of the first tab engages the engaging surfaces when the narrow portion of the first tab is moved into the elongated narrowed portion of the first engaging opening. The second engaging tab is configured and positioned to enter and engage the second engaging opening when the narrow portion of the first tab is moved into the elongated narrowed portion of the first engaging opening to lock the circuit board in position against the mounting bracket.
