The present disclosure is directed to a lubrication system for a gearbox that is part of a drivetrain assembly, e.g. of a wind turbine. The lubrication system includes a ring assembly having a first ring and a detached, second ring. The first and second rings are configured to fit within a gap located between a planetary gear system and a gearbox housing of the gearbox, e.g. due to operational and/or system tolerances. When installed, the first and second rings of the ring assembly are arranged together so as to form at least one opening therebetween, thereby being configured to direct a lubricant from the gearbox housing to the planetary gear system.

Gearbox lubrication system

A lubrication system for a fluid turbine is provided. The system includes a supply subsystem for providing oil via an oil tank or a hydraulic accumulator to a gearbox of the fluid turbine for lubrication during at least one of idling or loss of electric grid. The system also includes a control subsystem for controlling the flow in the lubrication system.

A drivetrain for a wind turbine includes a gearbox and a generator. The gear box includes a housing and an output shaft that is rotatably coupled within the housing, wherein the gearbox further includes at least one bearing positioned between the housing and the output shaft. The generator includes a stator coupled to the housing such that the stator is positioned radially inward from the housing, and a rotor coupled to the output shaft such that the rotor is positioned radially inward from the stator.

Drivetrain system for a wind turbine generator and method of assembling the same

A wind turbine is provided having a gearbox containing a lubrication medium, a pump for circulating the lubrication medium, and a gearbox lubrication suction pipe for transporting the lubrication medium from the gearbox to the pump. A heater is in thermal connection to, at least a portion of, the gearbox lubrication suction pipe. This heater is used to heat the lubrication medium contained within the gearbox lubrication suction pipe to a temperature where damage to the pump is avoided.

Lubrication heating system and wind turbine incorporating same

A connection arrangement for connecting drive shafts of a wind turbine including a rotor having a rotor shaft and a hub, and a gearbox having a gearbox input shaft is provided. The connection arrangement includes a first shaft connection means having a recessed portion arranged at the rotor shaft symmetrically to the axis of the rotor shaft, a second shaft connection means having a protruding portion arranged symmetrically to the axis of the gearbox input shaft, wherein the protruding portion of the second shaft connection means engages with the recessed portion of the first shaft connection means, and a fixing means for fixing the protruding portion of the first shaft connection means at the recessed portion of the second shaft connection means. A frictionally engaged connection is provided.
