An aqueous or organic solvent medium for additive manufacturing technologies comprising a nanocrystal comprising a functional group. The nanocrystal material is selected from a metal oxide, fluoride, metallic, carbon-based, semiconducting quantum dot or combinations thereof. The functional group comprises primary amine, carboxylic acid, lactam ring, polyamide polymer chain or group used to attach a similar functional group.

Surface functionalization of inorganic nanocrystals for nanocomposite additive manufacturing

A method of additively manufacturing a composite article with tuned impedance and refractive-index in three dimensions. The method includes providing a ferrite feedstock. The ferrite feedstock is loaded with ferrite particles. The method further includes depositing and curing the ferrite feedstock. Therein a composite article is formed.

Methods of manufacturing nanocomposite RF lens and radome

A method of bonding an RE:XAB gain medium to a heat spreader includes using a bonding solution of sodium silicate with concentration of sodium silicate is Na2O at 21.2% and SiO2 at 53% with PH&#x3e;=11 mixed with nano-pure water in a 1:1 ration. Applying the bonding solution onto either a surface of the RE:XAB or a surface of the heat spreader, aligning the RE:XAB and the heat spreader, applying pressure to draw the surfaces of the RE:XAB gain medium and the heat spreader together thereby uniformly spreading the bonding solution; and then curing the bonding solution.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of gold nanoparticles and methods of making and using the gold nanoparticles. The disclosed gold nanoparticles have core sizes and polydispersities controlled by the methods of making the gold nanoparticles. In some embodiments, the methods of making the gold nanoparticles can concern using flow reactors and reaction conditions controlled to make gold nanoparticles having a desired core size. The gold nanoparticles disclosed herein also comprise various ligands that can be used to facilitate the use of the gold nanoparticles in a variety of applications.
