There is disclosed a user authentication device for issuing authentication information. The user authentication device comprising a photovoltaic panel configured such that the photovoltaic panel can assist in powering the device in response to the device being exposed to the light.

User authentication device

An improved technique involves sending a user's authentication information to a local authentication device that computes a risk score and sends the risk score to a remote authentication server that determines whether the user is able to be authenticated. When the user makes an authentication or transaction request from an electronic device such as a computer or smartphone, the electronic device sends predictor values such as geo location and wireless signal strength to the local authentication device. The local authentication device then computes a risk score based on the received predictor values and historical predictor values. The local authentication device sends this risk score to a remote authentication server which determines from this risk score and other factors whether the user is able to be authenticated.

Localized risk analytics for user authentication

An apparatus comprises a processing device comprising a near field communication (NFC) network interface, a memory and a processor coupled to a memory. The processing device is configured under control of the processor to connect to a host device using the NFC network interface, receive an authentication request from another device through the NFC connection with the host device and authenticate the other device using information stored in the memory. A passcode is presented to the host device responsive to a successful authentication of the other device, the passcode being utilizable to authenticate to a resource protected by the other device.

Near field communication based authentication

A processorless hardware token provides a one-time password for user authentication. The processorless hardware token contains a non-volatile memory upon which is stored a pre-produced sequence of one-time passwords. The processorless hardware token uses limited circuitry on a circuit board to read from the non-volatile memory and display a one-time password associated with a current interval. The displayed one-time password is then used for authentication by an authentication server that compares the one-time password displayed on the processorless hardware token with a one-time password retrieved from a copy of the pre-produced sequence of one-time passwords stored on the Authentication Server.

Blower outlet fitting

A fan assembly has a circular disc with a rotational axis and first and second sides. A cylindrical side wall extends around the periphery of the disc. The side wall has axially spaced first and second rims and is circumferentially subdivided into a plurality of wall segments, each wall segment has inner and outer surfaces, with the second rim of the wall protruding axially beyond the second side of the disc. Fan blades are carried on the outer surfaces of the side wall segments. Mounting members protrude from the first side of the disc at locations spaced circumferentially around the periphery thereof. Connecting members on the inner surfaces of the wall segments coact in separable interlocked engagement with the mounting members to fasten the wall segments to the disc. A first ring on the first side of the disc prevents the connecting members from separating from their interlocked engagement with the mounting members. A second ring on the second side of the disc interconnects the wall segments.

Multi-component fan assembly

A portable ventilator having axially aligned inlet and outlet ports, an inlet fitting adapted for alternative connection to the inlet port in either of two 180.degree. reverse orientations. In one such orientation, the inlet fitting enhances air flow into the ventilator, and in the other such orientation, the inlet fitting adapts the inlet port for connection to a suction duct or the like.

An apparatus for mounting a portable ventilation fan at an access port in the wall of an enclosure. The apparatus comprises a fixable base plate having a first opening extending therethrough, and which is detachably mounted to the port with the first opening in alignment with the port opening. A swing plate having a second opening extending therethrough is pivotably coupled to the base plate for pivotal movement between a closed position in which the first and second openings are aligned and an open position. The fan is detachably coupled to the swing plate so that the fan is in alignment with the second opening, whereupon when the swing plate is in the closed position, the fan is operable to promote a flow of air through the access port via the first and second openings. A retaining mechanism yieldably retains the swing plate in the closed position so as to resist fan reactionary forces tending to pivotably displace the swing plate from the closed position, while permitting the swing plate to be readily pivoted to the open position by personnel seeking to enter or exit the enclosure via the access port in an emergency.
