Systems and methods for purging smoke and other gasses from containers are provided. First portions of a coupling device are fixed to the containers and each define a first inner passageway. A second portion of the coupling device is configured for selective securement to any of the first portions to create a fluid passageway from an interior of the container, through the coupling device, to an ambient environment outside of the container. An airflow device may be fluidly connected to said second portion by ductwork.

An apparatus for self-administering therapeutic pressure to provide chiropractic treatment to a user comprising a first and second side rails; wherein the first and the second side rails are parallel to each other, further the side rails comprises a fixable telescopic arrangement to fixedly adjust length of the side rails; a font cross rail, wherein the font cross rail acts as a thrust vector to provide desired pressure by the user; a back cross rail comprising at least one acupressure tip aligned substantially parallel to the side rails, wherein first and second side rails, the font cross rail and the back cross rail form a closed frame, whereby the adjustable side rails provide fixable adjustment of the frame depending on the user's needs. An upper cross rail, wherein the upper cross rail further comprises first padded upper rest points to act as a fulcrum between the font cross rail and the acupressure tip during the chiropractic treatment to a user's lower spinal area, whereby desired therapeutic pressure is self-administered by the user to provide chiropractic treatment to various body areas through the acupressure tip. In the preferred embodiment, this is through the use of the hoop formed by the rails that extends around the body and is held in front of the self-treating person, with the angles of the side rails extending down the side presenting a ready measure of the angle of the treating instrument on the spine.

Insertion of an advertisement within a television program or other media/content is contemplated. The advertisement insertion may be achieved when the media/content is originally transported with advertisement avails or other portions designated for advertisement insertion and those portions are difficult to discover, unknown, removed, obfuscated and/or generally inaccessible to a client facilitating play of the media/content.

In one embodiment, an inverter generates an inverted clock signal using (i) first P-type and N-type transistors connected in cascode between supply and ground nodes and (ii) control circuitry receiving different phase-offset input clock signals that ensure that the cascode-connected transistors are never even partially on at the same time, thereby preventing crowbar current from occurring through the cascode-connected devices. In one implementation, the control circuitry has two P-type transistors and two N-type transistors configured to receive three phase-offset input clock signals to prevent crowbar current in the inverter. The control circuitry has pass transistors that selectively allow one of the phase-offset input signals to be applied to the gate of one of the cascode-connected transistors with minimal delay, thereby enabling the inverter to operate properly over a relatively wide range of input clock frequencies.

In one embodiment, the operating range of an over-current detection circuit is extended to higher input voltage levels by providing a reference-voltage generation circuit for the detection circuit with voltage protection circuitry that applies an additional voltage drop to shield other vulnerable transistor devices from the higher input voltages. In addition, bypass circuitry is provided that is inactive at the highest input voltage levels, but actively bypasses at least some of the voltage protection circuitry at relatively low input voltage levels to apply a voltage drop that is sufficient to ensure proper operation of the vulnerable transistor devices at the low voltage levels. In one implementation, the vulnerable transistor devices are NFET devices in a programmable current mirror of the reference-voltage generation circuit. In addition, a stiffened voltage divider helps to ensure sufficient voltage drop at the low voltage levels. The protection and bypass circuitry also enable hot-socketing operations.

In an integrated circuit having input circuitry whose positive and/or negative input signals are gated by one or more clocked input switches, the switch clock signal CLK_SW used to clock the input switch(es) is automatically generated based on the higher of the IC's power supply voltage VDD and the positive input signal voltage Vplus. In one embodiment, a clock level shifter shifts an input clock signal CLK_VDD from the VDD voltage domain to generate a level-shifted clock signal CLK_VPLUS in the Vplus voltage domain. Based on a control signal VSEL, a clock selector selects either the input clock signal or the level-shifted clock signal to be the switch clock signal. An over-voltage detector generates both the logic state and the voltage domain of the control signal based on the higher of VDD and Vplus, such that the input switches are appropriately clocked even during over-voltage conditions in which Vplus&#x3e;VDD.

An impact head for a chiropractic adjustment tool or tapper that is easy to install, remains stable during lateral movements and easily exchangeable. The impact head comprises a central bore having a bore diameter disposed in the impact head at the attachment end, an annular slot concentrically disposed and parallel to the impact head central bore extending into the impact head from the attachment end of the impact head. The impact head is then attached to a reciprocating rod having a rod center bore and an annular reciprocating rod insert end wherein the reciprocating rod attaches by inserting the reciprocating rod insert end into the annular slot of the impact head and in a central insert having an insert diameter inserted into the impact head central.

In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a comparator system includes a plurality of multiplexers adapted to multiplex a number of differential input signals and a number of differential reference signals. A differencing circuit receives a differential input signal and a differential reference signal from the multiplexers and provides a differential output signal, which is used to provide a differential comparator output signal. A latch may be provided to perform differential-to-single ended conversion on the differential comparator output signal to provide a latch output signal. An output circuit may provide a registered digital output signal based on the latch output signal.

A method and apparatus is provided to power-up a device having both digital and analog circuitry. The analog circuitry requires a stabilization period before proper operation. During power-up, the digital circuitry is held in reset by a power-on reset circuit. The power-on reset circuit releases the reset after the expiration of a power-on reset period. During the period of time after expiration of the power-on reset period and before the analog circuitry reaches equilibrium, the digital circuitry operates in a mode that does not require input signals from the analog circuitry. After the analog circuitry has reached equilibrium, the digital circuitry begins normal operation during which inputs signals from the analog circuitry may be processed by the digital circuitry.

A bandgap reference circuit can use various output stages to implement a controlled feedback method of sensing and supplying the needed load current through a sensing network. A small amount of circuitry can be added to a class AB output stage to decouple the bandgap reference feedback from a capacitive load and simultaneously sense load current needs and boost current as needed while minimizing voltage droop. Such circuits can be implemented using relatively compact designs while still reducing droop, and thus allowing the use of a large external capacitor to reduce noise and maintain good power supply rejection.

Comparator circuits, including rail-to-rail comparator circuits, can implement inverter structures such as current-starved inverters to provide hysteresis to the comparator's output. For example, a current-starved inverter can have its input driven by the comparator output and add current to the currents produced by the comparator's input stage. The inverter current can be derived from bias sources used to bias the input stage of the comparator so that the inverter current can track the input stage bias currents.
