Embodiments provide a data persisting mechanism that allows for efficient, unobtrusive persisting of large volumes of data while optimizing the use of system resources by the persisting process. In an embodiment, the persisting process includes a self-tuning algorithm that constantly monitors persistence performance and that adjusts persistence time to maintain performance within user-defined criteria. From one aspect, this allows the persisting process to seamlessly adapt to changes in system environment (speeding up persistence during times of low processor usage and slowing down persistence during times of high processor usage) and to reduce or eliminate CPU spikes caused by persisting process. From another aspect, the persisting process results in the data being persisted as quickly as possible given the system constraints, thereby minimizing the possibility of data loss.

Persisting large volumes of data in an efficient unobtrusive manner

A method includes: applying an unsent electronic message to an electronic screening tool programmed to identify content that is potentially not authorized by a business or potentially harmful to the business; generating, based on an application of the unsent electronic message to the electronic screening tool, a risk assessment score for the unsent electronic message; determining that a value of the risk assessment score exceeds a threshold value; and following a determination that the value of the risk assessment score exceeds the threshold value: generating an electronic alert message for a sender that indicates that the unsent electronic message comprises content that may be objectionable.

Electronic message filter

The present invention is directed to a method and system for identifying content in an unsent electronic message composed by a sender affiliated with a business, wherein the content is potentially not authorized by the business or potentially harmful to the business. An electronic screening tool is applied to the unsent electronic message prior to transmission of the unsent electronic message from a server, associated with the business, to the recipient. The electronic screening tool is programmed to identify content that is potentially not authorized by the business or potentially harmful to the business. The sender's request to transmit the electronic message to the recipient may be automatically cancelled and/or expunged from the server if the output of the electronic screening tool indicates that the unsent electronic message contains content that is potentially not authorized by the business or potentially harmful to the business. The present invention is also directed to a method for identifying whether a first party is engaging in electronic communications that are potentially harmful to the first party in commercial or residential environments. An electronic screening tool is applied to one or more electronic messages sent or received by the first party. The electronic screening tool is programmed to identify content associated with a situation that is potentially harmful to the first party. An alert message is automatically sent to a second party indicating that the first party may be involved in a situation that is potentially harmful to the first party if the output of the electronic screening tool indicates that the electronic messages contain content associated with a situation that is potentially harmful to the first party.

A metric monitoring and analysis system including dynamic sampling agents located in monitored system elements and a service management platform. Each sampling agent includes a data adapter collecting metric data in a common format, a threshold generator for determining dynamic metric threshold ranges, an alarm detector generating an indicator when a metric deviates outside a dynamic threshold range or a static threshold, and a deviation tracker generating an alarm severity scores. The service platform includes an alarm analyzer identifying root causes of system alarm conditions by correlation of grouped metrics or forensic analysis of temporally or statistically correlated secondary forensic data or data items from a service model of the system.
