Devices and methods for using separate advertisement streams in a single beacon device are disclosed herein. An example beacon device includes at least one processor, a radio transceiver, and a memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the beacon device to receive a set of beacon information captured during a scan period. The instructions may further cause the beacon device to transmit a captured beacon stream (CBS) that includes beacon information from the set of beacon information. The instructions may further cause the beacon device to transmit, to a mobile device, a waypoint beacon stream (WBS) including a protocol data unit (PDU) data payload. The PDU data payload may encode a media access control (MAC) identifier adjacent to a type field indicative of a format for heartbeat data encoded in the PDU data payload.

Devices and methods for using separate advertisement streams in a single beacon device

Radio transceiver devices and methods are disclosed herein. An example transceiver device includes at least one processor, a plurality of radio transceivers, and a memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the transceiver device to cause the plurality of radio transceivers to scan over each of a plurality of advertisement channels during a first period; and during a second period of the scan period, cause the plurality of radio transceivers to scan over each of the plurality of advertisement channels. The instruction may further cause the transceiver device to receive a beacon data packet including beacon information that is associated with a beacon device disposed proximate to the transceiver device, and wherein the beacon data packet includes beacon information captured during the first period and the second period.

Devices and methods for synchronizing transceiver devices to simultaneously capture data across multiple advertisement channels

A locationing platform may receive, via a mesh network, a locationing communication associated with a waypoint beacon. The locationing platform may identify an entry node of the locationing communication. The locationing platform may determine a waypoint location associated with the waypoint beacon based on locationing information in the locationing communication. The locationing platform may determine a node location of the entry node based on the waypoint location. The locationing platform may configure, based on the node location, a relay node of the mesh network to forward or drop subsequently received locationing communications that are associated with the waypoint beacon.

Configuring a wireless mesh network for locationing

A wireless communication device may determine that a channel is to be used to transmit an advertisement. The wireless communication device may determine a channel-specific gain associated with transmitting the advertisement via the channel. The wireless communication device may generate the advertisement to include information identifying a channel identifier of the channel and the channel-specific gain. The wireless communication device may transmit the advertisement for locationing based on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the advertisement.

A system for determining a distance between a receiver and a transmitter are disclosed herein. The transmitter includes a first antenna array having a first spatial orientation and is configured to transmit a signal. The receiver includes a second antenna array and an orientation sensor to determine a second spatial orientation of the second antenna array and is configured to receive the signal. A logic circuit is configured compare the first spatial orientation to the second spatial orientation to determine a relative orientation of the second antenna array; determine an angle of arrival of the signal; identify, based on the relative orientation of the second antenna array and the angle of arrival of the signal, a received signal strength compensation value; and calculate a distance between the transmitter and the receiver based on a measured received signal strength of the signal and the identified compensation value.

Sensor-assisted technique for RF power normalization in locationing applications

A radio frequency (RF) device includes a spatial orientation sensor and logic circuit configured to determine spatial orientation of the RF device relative to a reference position or relative to a RF transmitter. In particular, the RF device determines a distance between the RF receiver and the RF transmitter based on a received signal strength of the signal and a determined spatial orientation of the RF device, by determining an orientation compensation value from a stored orientation compensation profile and determining a resulting compensated received signal strength. The RF device is thereby able to determine distance in an orientationally-invariant manner.

Methods, systems and apparatus for detecting object location and generating alerts are disclosed herein. An example disclosed method includes determining an assigned area for an object being handled by a loader; detecting a first location of the loader; determining whether the first location corresponds to the assigned area for the object; and in response to the first location not corresponding to the assigned area for the object, generating a first output indicative of a difference between the first location and the assigned area for the object.

Beacon devices and associated components, methods, etc., are disclosed. An example beacon device includes a memory, a communication interface, and a processor to execute instructions with respect to configuration information to control the communication interface and operation of the processor based on a mode in which the beacon device is set to operate, the processor to dynamically transition among a plurality of modes based on an operating condition of the beacon device and a communication received from at least one of the receiver or the controller. In certain examples, the plurality of modes includes a configuration mode and a broadcast mode. When in the configuration mode, the operation of the processor is to process the communication received from the controller to adjust the configuration information. When in the broadcast mode, the operation of the processor is to generate a beacon signal to transmit to at least one of the receiver or the controller via the communication interface.

Healthcare beacon device configuration systems and methods

Bluetooth Low Energy nodes are serially-connected with a cable that includes power lines and can include communication wires. The nodes do not have individual batteries. Instead, a single common power source is connected to the wires to provide power for all the nodes. The nodes can also be connected in series with the communication wires (which can be the same as the power wires) along a length of the cable. A headend interface can also be connected at one point of the cable to provide a communication interface with the nodes. The nodes can transmit and/or receive beacons to be used for locationing of mobile devices.

The present invention relates generally to methods and systems for determining a class of power delivered via power sourcing equipment ('PSE') utilizing power over Ethernet ('POE') technology. Described is a method including operating an network device at a first power setting, increasing a power requirement of the network device, detecting a second power setting based on an amount of power available from a power source, the second power setting being greater than the first power setting, determining whether one or more resources of the network device is operable at the second power setting, operating the network device at the second power setting if the one or more resources is operable, and activating an alert if the one or more resources is not operable. Further described is a system including a network device operating at a first power setting, the network device increases a power requirement, a power source providing an amount of power to the network device at a second power setting, the second power setting being greater than the first power setting, and a server determining whether one or more resources of the network device is operable at the second power setting, wherein the network device operates the at the second power setting if the one or more resources is operable, and the network device activates an alert if the one or more resources is not operable.

Method and system for determining power over ethernet class capabilities

Aspects for achieving and utilizing synchronization among end stations in a wireless local area network (WLAN) are provided. In a method aspect, the method includes receiving a packet with a time synchronization field value from a first end station in a second end station of a communication group. The method further includes comparing upon receipt of the packet the time synchronization field value with a local time value in the second end station to determine whether the local time value requires updating to maintain synchronization between the first and second end stations. The comparing further determines whether a difference between the time synchronization field value and the local time value is greater than zero, and when the difference is greater than zero, the local time value is updated to the time synchronization field value. In a system aspect, the system includes at least two end stations, wherein each of the at least two end stations further includes a local clock unit, and a transmit/receive control unit coupled to the local clock unit. A time synchronization field register in the transmit/receive control unit stores a value of the local clock unit, with one of the at least two end stations comparing a time synchronization field register value of a packet upon receipt from another of the at least two end stations with a value of the local clock unit to determine whether updating of the local clock unit is necessary.
