Described is the use of homopolymers of (epsilon caprolactone) defined according to the structure: ##STR1## and, optionally, ##STR2## as controlled release materials for physiological or psychological diagnostic compositions, pheremones, insect repellent compositions, animal repellent compositions, and/or aroma augmenting or enhancing media for use in perfume compositions or perfumed articles or colognes; wherein n represents an integer of from about 500 up to about 1,200 with the proviso that the average 'n' varies from about 600 up to about 800. Also described are mixtures of such homopolymers with other polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene, mixtures of polyethylene and polyvinyl acetate, copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate, and the like, useful for controlled release of such physiological or psychological diagnostic compositions, pheremones, insect repellents, animal repellents and perfume materials into a gaseous environment surrounding the polymer matrix. Also described are methods for blending such polycaprolactone homopolymers whereby a first amount of a liquified polycaprolactone is admixed in an extruder, for example, with a diagnostic material and/or scent imparting material and/or an animal repellent material and/or insect repellent material and/or a pheremone material. The solidified pellets may if desired, then be mixed in, for example, a second extruder with a second amount of unscented polycaprolactone or other polymer, e.g., polyolefin, the second amount of polymer being the same or somewhat larger then the first amount. The mixture thus obtained may again be solidified and, if desired, repelletized. The resulting pellets may, if desired, be formed into functional articles by means of, for example, injection molding.

Insect repellent, pheremonal, animal repellent, diagnostic or aroma

Described are liqiud or solid fabric softener compositions of matter which effect a continuously high fragrance intensity release from the cloth or fabric treated with same, evenly and uniformly over an extended period of time and which can be adapted to yield differing aromas from a qualitative and quantitative standpoint in a controllable manner containing a mixture of (i) a non-confined fragrance composition; (ii) one or more fragrance oils which are physically entrapped in one or more types of solid particles and (iii) a suspending agent such as hydroxypropyl cellulose, silica, xanthan gum, ethyl cellulose or combinations of the previously mentioned four substances; the non-confined fragrance substance, the entrapped fragrance oil and the suspension agent being premixed prior to the subsequent creation of the liquid or solid fabric softener compositions of matter.

Liquid or solid fabric softener composition comprising microencapsulated

Described are hydro-alcohol compositions of matter including, but not limited to, colognes, after-shave lotions, after-bath preparations and splash lotions, which yield continuously high fragrance intensity release, evenly and uniformly over an extended period of time and which can be adapted to yield differing aromas from a qualitative and quantitative standpoint in a controllable manner containing a mixture of (i) a non-confined fragrance composition; (ii) one or more fragrance oils which are physically entrapped in one or more types of solid particles and (iii) a suspending agent such as hydroxypropyl cellulose, silica, xanthan gum, ethyl cellulose or combinations of the previously mentioned four substances; the non-confined fragrance substance, the entrapped fragrance oil and the suspension agent being premixed prior to the subsequent creation of the hydro-alcohol compositions of matter.
