In embodiments of systems and methods for synchronous content presentation, an Edge server device may receive a decryption key for an encrypted content segment that is or will be delivered to a plurality of wireless devices over the wireless communication network, and may send the decryption key to the plurality of wireless devices after the encrypted content segment has been received by the plurality of wireless devices in a manner that enables the plurality of wireless devices to decrypt the encrypted content segment approximately simultaneously. A wireless device may receive, and optionally temporarily store, the encrypted content segment from the wireless communication network, receive the decryption key from the Edge server device after receiving the encrypted content segment, and decrypt the stored encrypted content segment using the received decryption key.

Synchronous content presentation

Embodiments include methods performed by a processor of a mobile device for allocating resources to a plurality of mobile devices in communication with an Edge network. The processor may receive from the plurality of mobile devices one or more capabilities of each mobile device related to a computing task in which the plurality of mobile devices are participating. The processor may determine a fairness result for the plurality of computing devices based on the one or more capabilities of each mobile device and the computing task. The processor may allocate resources to each of the plurality of mobile devices based on the determined fairness result.

Allocating resources to a plurality of mobile devices

Embodiments include methods performed by a processor of an Edge computing device for generating local dynamic map (LDM) data. The processor may receive new or updated ('first') LDM data for a service area of the Edge computing device. The processor may integrate the first LDM data into an LDM data model. The processor may determine second LDM data of the LDM data model that is relevant to a vehicle or mobile device. The processor may provide the determined second LDM data to the vehicle or mobile device.

Edge system for providing local dynamic map data

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, by an edge enabler client of the UE, to trigger generation of a shadow application context to support an application that is associated with an application context and that is served by an edge network device. The UE may determine, by the edge enabler client, to transfer support of the application from the application context to the shadow application context, and transfer, by the edge enabler client, support of the application from the application context to the shadow application context. In some aspects, an application context may be transferred between a UE and an edge network directly, without the shadow application context. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Edge application context relocation and replication

Systems and methods for user equipment (UE) triggered edge computing application context relocation in an edge computing application architecture are described. For example, in facilitating relocation of an application context from a source edge application server (S-EAS) served by a source edge enabler server (S-EES) to a target EAS (T-EAS) served by a target EES (T-EES), S-EES centric and/or T-EES centric UE triggered application context relocation procedures may be implemented. In accordance with S-EES centric and/or T-EES centric UE triggered application context relocation procedures of some examples, a UE may take primary responsibility with respect to the application context transfer. User equipment (UE) triggered edge computing application context relocation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for establishment and maintenance of edge data network services. A user equipment (UE) may register one or more application clients for edge services at an edge application server. In order to maintain edge application servers that are continuing to be used by the UE, an edge enabler server at the edge data network, an edge enabler client at the UE, or both, may initiate a timer that is used to confirm the edge application server is continuing to be used. Such techniques may help prevent resources from being consumed after the edge services are no longer needed, such as after the UE no longer needs the edge services or the UE has moved outside of an area associated with the edge services.

Local cache management in edge networks

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a user equipment (UE). The UE may be configured to transmit a message indicating an identifier (ID) associated with an application to a first edge computing system; receive first information associated with the application in response to transmitting the message, the first information indicating whether at least one second edge computing system configured to provide the application is accessible through at least one cell; and determine a set of cells through which the at least one second edge computing system is accessible based on the first information.

System and method for prioritized mobility to access edge servers

Systems and methods for establishing a connection with an edge application server are provided. A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network establishes a connection with an edge application server to offload the data processing of an application executing on the UE to the edge application server. The UE communicates key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with the application to the edge data network. The KPIs indicate the resources that application uses to process the data. In response, the UE receives edge application server parameters from multiple servers in the edge data network that meet or exceed the KPIs. The parameters include compute, graphical compute, memory and storage parameters with various levels of specificity. The UE selects one of the edge application servers to process the data on behalf of the application based on the parameters.

Edge computing platform capability discovery

Aspects of the present disclosure provide a system, method, and apparatus for providing multimedia broadcast and multicast service (MBMS) operations in a wireless communication system. In some aspects of the present disclosure, the system, method and apparatus may provide flexibility for an application server to select one or more MBMS service delivery functionalities supported by a network device for transmission of multimedia content to a mobile device. The MBMS service delivery functionalities selected by the application server may be a subset of a plurality of MBMS service delivery functionalities supported by the network device.

Techniques for modular multimedia broadcast and multicast service (MBMS) delivery

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for configuration of edge data networks based on current and projected future locations of a user equipment (UE). The UE may provide one or more expected future locations based on routing information of the UE, a polygon associated with one or more current or future UE locations, a waypoint set of the UE, and the like. Based on the provided one or more future locations, the edge data network may provide to the UE one or more edge data network configurations for different UE locations. As the UE moves to different locations, different edge data network configurations may be used, thereby enhancing efficiency of UE operation in the edge data network.

Edge discovery techniques in wireless communications systems

A user equipment (UE) registers on a first Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) and, while in an idle mode, receives a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (MBMS) service. The UE determines whether to perform a periodic network reselection search for a higher priority PLMN while in the idle mode, wherein the UE determines whether to perform the periodic network reselection search based on reception of the MBMS service. The UE may postpone the periodic network reselection search for a period of time while the UE receives the MBMS service in the idle mode. The UE may postpone the periodic network reselection search for a period of time while the UE receives the MBMS service in the idle mode. The UE may interleave the periodic network reselection search with the reception of transmission bursts of the MBMS service, the search being performed on frequencies other than that of the MBMS transmission.

Some systems may us MBMS from a V2X proximity broadcast. Electronic communications devices, such as UEs may be unaware of the MBMS. A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be an RSU. The RSU receive a V2X message from a UE. The RSU may broadcast information associated with the V2X message. The RSU may send the information associated with the V2X message to a network entity for a point-to-multipoint broadcast. The method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication may also use V2X messages that include bootstrapping information to tune to an MBMS broadcast.

Point-to-multipoint broadcast assisted vehicle-to-X broadcast

Techniques are provided for smooth transition between broadcast/multicast transmission and unicast transmission. A method for managing unicast and multicast services switching in a multi-band/multi-frequency wireless communications system (WCS) capable of both unicast and multicast signaling includes determining whether an aggregate demand for a content provided via dedicated unicast transmissions exceeds a threshold. The method includes switching transmission of the content from the dedicated unicast transmissions on one frequency to a multicast transmission on a second or more frequencies in response to determining that the aggregate demand exceeds the threshold.
