An image reproduction system and methods for providing colorant data to an end device. A method includes extracting general HSV value data for each pixel of an image from image data. For each pixel, the general HSV value data is transformed to generate universal perceived brightness, Bp, and universal perceived-chroma, Cp, value data. End-device colorant data associated with the general HSV value data is retrieved for each pixel and scaled using the Bp and Cp value data to obtain scaled end-device colorant data. The scaled end-device colorant data is transmitted to the end device.

Image transformation system and method

A reflectometer system for use with a non-contact actinic system includes a primary lens, and an illumination source and a detector positioned on an observation side of the primary lens opposite a goods production area and sample region. The illumination source emits an illumination beam through an illumination beam void between the primary lens and the housing, which is directed into the goods production area and sample region, and onto a flow or static sample of material to be tested. The material being tested then create a reflected beam, which shines back to the observation side of the primary lens through the primary lens to the detector. The general alignment of the illumination beam and the reflected beam create an extended sample region within the goods production area, as well as a compact reflectometer system structure.

Non-contact reflectometer vision system

A method, computer-usable medium, and system for processing graphical data for display on a multi-component display is disclosed. Embodiments improve the display quality of multi-component displays by modifying graphical data to preemptively compensate for distortion caused by interstitial layers and/or display screens of the multi-component display, thereby enabling display of graphical objects from multi-component displays with improved optical characteristics. For example, where components of a multi-component display blur displayed images, graphical data used to display graphical objects may be modified to sharpen the graphical objects before display. The pre-sharpening amplifies the high frequency components of the displayed graphical objects to compensate for the dampening caused by passing the graphical objects through the components of the multi-component display.

Method and system for improving display quality of a multi-component display

A medical diagnostic imaging system is employed to generate two or more diagnostic images with each image generated using a different imaging modality. The imaging system includes an imaging device for generating the diagnostic image information, an operator interface for controlling the operation of the imaging device, an imaging device control module that operates on the diagnostic image information generated by the imaging device and sends the processed image information to a display device. After first generating two or more test images that are used to identify target tissue and to derive functions that are later used during the diagnostic process to identify target tissue and to assign vector magnitudes to the identified target tissue, two or more diagnostic images are then generated and the color in each image is quantified. The images that have been color quantified are then run through a matrix operation which employs the earlier derived functions to identify potential target tissue and to assign vector magnitudes to the identified target tissue. The results of this matrix operation are then processed to arrive at a characteristic diagnostic result which is used to reach a diagnostic conclusion.

Method and apparatus for uniquely identifying tissue pathology

A diffraction grating and a prism with the appropriate characteristics are employed to provide a combined dispersive characteristic that is substantially linear over the visible spectrum. Radiation from the grating and prism is collimated by a lens towards a detector array. The grating or a telecentric stop between the grating and prism is placed at a focal point of the lens in a telecentric arrangement so that equal magnification is achieved at the detector array. If the detector array is replaced by a plurality of optical channels, a multiplexer/demultiplexer is obtained. A one or two dimensional detector array may be used for detecting the characteristics of a radiation beam. Alternatively, a one or two dimensional array of optical channels may be employed in a multiplexer or demultiplex arrangement with a single output/input optical channel.

Refractive-diffractive spectrometer

Two or more triangular apertures are employed to pass radiation from a source to a detector to reduce the amount of stray radiation received by the detector. Preferably, the two apertures are equilateral triangles oriented at 60rotated relative to each other and have dimensions proportional to their distances from the detector. A Bessel filter is employed to reduce the effect of flicker and other rapid changes in intensity in the radiance from the source. The output of the sensor is integrated and sampled at sampling time intervals that are powers of two of time, and a reading is provided when the output of the integrator exceeds the same threshold under all radiation source intensity conditions so that the meter has a substantially constant resolution at different signal levels. Where the radiation from the source is transmitted or reflected by the sample before such radiation is detected by the detector, the instrument becomes a transmissometer or reflectometer.
