A vertically adjustable free-standing work station including a first pair of vertically oriented, free-standing, spaced rails (5) mounted on feet which rest on the floor, a second pair of vertically oriented rails (6) individually, slidably, interlockingly disposed in the first pair of rails (5), a pair of support brackets (3) individually mounted on the second pair of rails (6), a work surface (4) supported by the support brackets (3), a pair of interconnecting channels (7, 8) for respectively interconnecting the first and second pairs of rails (5, 6) and a drive mechanism coupled between the interconnecting channels to move the channels toward or away from each other so as to attendantly displace the work surface (4).

Automatic vertically adjustable work surface

A work surface includes a recessed portion for receiving an adjustable inset which may support a keyboard for a video display terminal, a typewriter or simply serve as a writing surface. The inset is mounted to the work surface by means of adjustable inset brackets disposed at either longitudinal end thereof. The inset includes an adjustable wrist support mounted on the outer edge thereof. Each adjustable inset bracket comprises outer and inner plate-like members having aligned vertical elongated slots in vertical portions thereof for receiving a threaded shank portion of an adjustment handle. A fastening member is threadedly engaged with the threaded shank portion protruding from the aligned elongated slots. Upon loosening the adjustment handles for the right side adjustable inset bracket and for the left side adjustable inset bracket, the inset may be adjusted to positions above, level with and below the work surface and also tilted with respect to the work surface.

A vertically adjustable work station including a first pair of vertically oriented, spaced rails (5) to be stationarily mounted on an existing wall panel (1) of a conventional work station, a second pair of vertically oriented rails (6) individually, slidably, interlockingly disposed in the first pair of rails (5), a pair of support brackets (3) having engaging teeth (17) protruding therefrom so as to be individually mounted on the second pair of rails (6), a work surface (4) supported by the support brackets (3), a pair of interconnecting channels (8) for respectively interconnecting the first and second pairs of rails (5, 6) and a drive mechanism coupled between the interconnecting channels to move the channels toward or away from each other so as to attendantly displace the work surface (4).

A device for supporting the wrists of a keyboard operator or typist. The device includes a support member for supporting the operator's wrists, a mounting bracket adapted to be mounted on a base, a pair of connecting members respectively extending from the mounting bracket and the wrist support member, each of the connecting members having a slot disposed therein, and a pin extending parallel to the support member through each of the slots in the connecting member so as to respectively connect the pair of connecting members extending from the mounting bracket to the pair of connecting members extending from the wrist support member. In this manner, the wrist support member is pivotably adjustable relative to the mounting bracket about an axis which is disposed parallel to the mounting bracket, and the wrist support member is translatably adjustable in two directions angularly disposed with respect to one another. Therefore, the wrist support members are independently adjustable in three directions providing the operator with a large degree of adjustability.

A vertically adjustable, retrofittable work station including a first pair of vertically oriented, spaced rails (5) having engaging teeth (10) protruding therefrom so as to be stationarily mounted on an existing wall panel (1) of a conventional work station, a second pair of vertically oriented rails (6) individually, slidably, interlockingly disposed in the first pair of rails (5), a pair of support brackets (3) having engaging teeth (17) protruding therefrom so as to be individually mounted on the second pair of rails (6), a work surfaces (4) supported by the support brackets (3), a pair of interconnecting channels (7, 8) for respectively interconnecting the first and second pairs of rails (5,6), and a drive mechanism coupled between the interconnecting channels to move the channels toward or away from each other so as to attendantly displace the work surface (4).
