A multipurpose, non-fluid, electronic level mechanism featuring an inhibitor, and emitter and a receiver. The inhibitor is mounted from the inhibitor bracket and in operation blocks a laser from the emitter to the receiver, unless the device is at a level position on a selected surface. If the device is at a level position on the selected surface, the laser from the emitter passes through an aperture in the inhibitor and is receiver by the receiver, which indicates that the device is level on the exterior of the device's body.

A method for producing aromatic amines such as N-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine is disclosed wherein an amine substituted aromatic such as aniline is oxidized with oxygen or hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a preferred alkali metal pentacyano ferrate(II) complex made using water soluble ferrous salts with a non-oxidizing anion, preferably, ferrous sulfate, and containing various water soluble ligands, such as ammonia, mono alkyl amine, dialkyl amines, and trialkyl amines. The complex is subsequently catalytically reduced by hydrogenation using certain heterogeneous metal catalysts to yield the desired aromatic amine.

Preparation of substituted aromatic amines

A method for producing aromatic amines such as N-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine is disclosed wherein an amine substituted aromatic such as aniline is oxidized with oxygen or hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a preferred trisodium pentacyano ferrate(II) complex containing various water soluble ligands, such as ammonia, mono alkyl amine, dialkyl amines, and trialkyl amines. The complex is subsequently catalytically reduced by hydrogenation using certain heterogeneous metal catalysts to yield the desired aromatic amine.

Disclosed are tris-substituted 1,3,5-triazine compounds having at least one (N-alkyl-p-phenylendediamino) group on the triazine ring. The preferred compositions are tri-substituted with the alkyl p-phenylenediamino group. The preferred compounds may be prepared by reacting N-alkylphenylenediamine with a cyanuric halide.

A new class of antiozonant compounds, namely tris(N-alkyl-p-phenylenediamino)-1,3,5-triazine compounds, are incorporated into thermosetting compositions having at least one highly unsaturated rubbery polymer and at least one other elastomer having lesser unsaturation, such as EPDM. Thermosetting compositions are most useful as tire sidewall compositions which may be preferably cured with blends of organic peroxide and sulfur donor accelerators.

At least one substituent must be N-alkyl paraphenylenediamino, and the other substituents may be various radicals containing sulfur, oxygen or nitrogen or hydrogen or alkyl groups. The compounds are useful as antioxidants and antiozonants for unsaturated compounds and polymers.
