A computer-implemented system and method for providing a display of clusters is provided. A plurality of cluster spines is presented in a two-dimensional display. Each cluster spine includes a vector of document clusters. A compass is positioned over at least a portion of the clusters of one or more of the spines. A spine label for at least one of the spines within the compass is placed around a circumference of the compass. One of the spine labels is pinned to the compass at a fixed location. The compass is reoriented within the display and the pinned spine label is displayed at the fixed location on the reoriented compass.

Computer-implemented system and method for providing a display of clusters

A computer-implemented system and method for displaying clusters via a dynamic user interface is presented. Cluster spines are displayed and each cluster spine includes two or more clusters of documents. At least one compass frames at least a portion of one or more of the cluster spines in the display. At least one label is generated to identify a concept of one of the framed cluster spines. The label is circumferentially displayed around the compass. Then, the concept is changed as the compass moves over others of the cluster spines.

A computer-implemented system and method for visualizing message-related relationships within a social network is provided. Entities associated with a group of messages are identified. A social network is built based on a relationship of the entities and messages by connecting those entities that share at least one of the messages from the group. A semantic network is generated from concepts of the messages. The social network and the semantic network are simultaneously displayed.

Data elements are extracted from the messages. Concepts are identified based on the extracted data elements. A social network is created based on the exchanged messages. Each link represents the messages exchanged between the entities represented by the at least two nodes. A representation of the social network is provided. The concepts associated with the exchanged messages are displayed with the social network.

Electronic data files are broadly characterized as 'messages' and a social network is constructed by analyzing one or more messages exchanged between various entities. Additionally, messages from structured and/or unstructured data stores are correlated using one or more common/related data elements from two or more messages. Further, the social network and the concepts contained in the exchanged messages (i.e. semantic network) can be visualized using a series of multi-aspect viewing tools. Finally, in conjunction with the social network and the semantic network, a message network based on the chronological relationship of the messages (event network) can be constructed to analyze and visualize how the messages relate to each other in a time-based reference model. Once visualized, the relationship of the concepts contained in the messages as well as the relationship between the entities and the timing involved in the exchange of messages can be analyzed for desired information.
