A split enclosure apparatus for fan-less cooling may be provided. The apparatus may comprise a device and a housing. The device may comprise a plurality of components. The housing may enclose the device and may comprise a first external surface, a second external surface, and a joint between the first external surface and the second external surface. The first external surface may be dedicated to cooling a first one of the plurality of components. The second external surface may be dedicated to cooling a second one of the plurality of components. The joint between the first external surface and the second external surface may be electrically conductive and thermally resistive.

Split enclosure for fan-less cooling

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a connector plug for attachment to a single pair Ethernet cable comprising a pair of conductors, and configured for being received in a connector receptacle. The connector plug includes a first end for receiving the single pair Ethernet cable and a second end having a pair of contacts, each of the contacts comprising a receptacle contact interface, a conductor interface, and an extension to provide an increased width between conductor gripping prongs at the conductor interface while maintaining a consistent spacing between the pair of contacts at the receptacle contact interface with connector plugs configured to mate with different gauge cables. The connector plug comprises a latch for secure attachment to the receptacle and a pull cord connected to the latch and accessible when the connector plug is inserted into the receptacle with other connector plugs for release of the connector plug.

Single pair ethernet connector system

In one embodiment, an electrical receptacle includes a housing, stationary electrical contacts for transferring power received at the electrical receptacle to a connected device, pin contacts for mating with socket contacts on a plug to create a first connection when the plug is moved along a longitudinal axis of the housing, and internal contacts extending from the pin contacts and located within the housing for mating with the stationary electrical contacts to create a second connection with movement of the plug different from movement for the first connection. An electrical arc created between one of the internal contacts and one of the stationary electrical contacts is contained within the housing. A method and adapter are also disclosed herein.

High voltage direct current connector assembly or adapter with arc protection

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a connector plug for attachment to a single pair Ethernet cable comprising a pair of conductors, and configured for being received in a connector receptacle. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a module for installation in a modular electronic system. The module generally comprises a subassembly for insertion into a front opening in a chassis of the modular electronic system or removal from the front opening in the chassis and an adapter comprising a first interface for mating with the subassembly and a second interface for mating with the modular electronic system. The adapter remains in the chassis during removal of the subassembly from the front opening in the chassis and the module is configured for insertion into a rear opening in the chassis or removal from the rear opening in the chassis with the subassembly coupled to the adapter.

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a module adapter comprising a first connector for connection to a modular electronic system and a second connector for connection to a module inserted into a chassis of the modular electronic system to couple the module with the modular electronic system. The module adapter is removably inserted into the chassis of the modular electronic system with an adapter tool operable to lock the module adapter in place in the chassis. A method for insertion of the module adapter is also disclosed herein.

A device includes a printed circuit assembly (PCA) including a printed circuit board and at least one electronic component integrated with the printed circuit board, and a support to which the PCA is securable. At least one of the PCA and the support includes engaging structure elements, and some engaging structure elements are configured to secure the PCA to the support while other engaging structure elements are configured to secure the support to a securing structure within a housing of an electronic device.

In an embodiment, an apparatus includes a housing and a cover. The housing can include a surface to receive a terminal block to transmit power to an electrical component. A shroud to be inserted within the electrical component can extend away from the housing surface. The cover can have an end for hingedly attaching to the housing. The cover is pivotable relative to the housing between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the cover and the housing together form an enclosure for the terminal block.

An apparatus includes a housing and a cover. The housing can include a surface to receive a terminal block to transmit power to an electrical component. A shroud to be inserted within the electrical component can extend away from the housing surface. The cover can have an end for hingedly attaching to the housing. Another cover end can be configured to releasably lock to the housing. The housing and the cover can have notches. The cover is pivotable relative to the housing between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the cover and the housing together form an enclosure for the terminal block, and the notches of the housing and the cover cooperatively define passageways configured to receive external wires to connect to the terminal block.

A device includes an elongated strap, a latch structure connected to the strap and configured to receive and secure a portion of the strap within the latch structure when an end of the strap is inserted through an opening of the latch, and a clamping structure secured to the strap. The clamping structure includes a flexible ring member with two free ends that are separable from each other to define a gap between the two free ends and are further configured to be drawn toward each other such that one free end overlaps the other free end, and a locking mechanism that is operable by a user to selectively compress the ring member so as to secure a portion of at least one power cord within the ring member.

In order to increase the flexibility of the positioning of a stacked computer system within a data center, a removable fan unit is positioned within the computer system. The removable fan unit includes a fan housing that supports a fan electrically connected to a connector extending from a side of the fan housing. The connector of the removable fan unit may be electrically connected to a computer system-side connector in a first orientation to move air through the computer system in a first direction. The connector or another connector of the removable fan unit may be electrically connected to another or the same computer system-side connector in a second orientation to move air through the computer system in a second direction.

Configurable fan unit

A cable management system for organizing and controlling cables extending from an electronic device while providing substantially unimpeded device access, substantially unrestricted cable movement and substantially unrestricted air flow into and out of the device. The system attaches to a secure structure and is capable of boxing out from the structure to allow access to service a device positioned within the secure structure. The cable management system includes at least three cable arms of rigid material, a coupling member attached between each adjacent pair of the at least three cable arms, where the coupling member provides movement between each of the adjacent pairs of cable arms.
