A mandrelfor holding an ophthalmic lens member blankduring machining is disclosed. The mandrelcomprises a front surfacefor receiving an ophthalmic lens member blankto be machined; a rear surfaceopposite the front surface; and one or more through-holesextending between the front and rear surfaces. In use, wax applied to the rear surfacecontacts an ophthalmic lens member blankreceived on the front surfacevia said one or more through-holes. Methods of producing an ophthalmic lens using such a mandrel and lenses produced using such a mandrel are also disclosed.

Mandrel for use in the machining of ophthalmic lenses

The present disclosure relates to a contact lens () including a diffractive optical element (), an optical filter (), and an optic axis () passing through the optical filter and the diffractive optical element. The diffractive optical element () is configured to focus visible light. The optical filter () is configured to filter out light with a wavelength of 450 nm to 495 nm. The optical filter () may allow through light with a wavelength of 500 nm to 750 nm. The optical filter () may include one or more colorants.
