Fixtures including supports for holding various components are disclosed. The fixtures may include a first member including two opposing side rails positioned opposite and parallel to one another, and at least two supports extending between each of the two opposing side rails. The at least two supports may contact removable features formed on the component. The fixture may also include a second member contacting the first member. The second member may include two opposing side rails positioned opposite and parallel to one another. The two opposing side rails of the second member may be positioned on and may contact the two opposing side rails of the first member. The second member may also include at least one support extending between the two opposing side rails of the second member. The at least one support may contact removable features formed on the component.

Fixture including supports for holding various components

This disclosure relates to a tool guide for a tool that shapes a workpiece. The tool guide may include a body having a contact surface configured to contact a surface of a workpiece, a tool holder positioned within the body and configured to hold a machining tool having a tool bit, the tool holder holding the machining tool in a predetermined orientation relative to the workpiece, a guide element attached to the body configured to engage a surface feature of the workpiece, and an upper opening and a lower opening in the body configured to allow the tool bit to extend beyond the contact surface and operate to remove a portion of the workpiece.

In one embodiment, a fixture for supporting a body in an oven includes a plurality of support ribs to support the body, and a support element to support and connect the plurality of support ribs. Each support rib has a length, a width, a thickness, and a first end. The length extends from the support element to the first end, and the width extends perpendicular to the length. The length varies across the width of at least one support rib. In another embodiment, a fixture for supporting a body in an oven includes a plurality of connected support ribs to support the body. Each support rib is spaced from at least one other support rib. The length differs for at least a first support rib of the plurality of support ribs with respect to at least a second support rib of the plurality of support ribs.

The apparatus comprises a base and a carriage movable along the base. The carriage comprises a roller. The tensioner comprises a support member that projects orthogonally above a plane of the vacuum platen.

A generally planar, flexible light source assembly or OLED device includes a generally planar, flexible light emitting member having opposite first and second surfaces. An impermeable backsheet is disposed along the first surface of the light emitting surface and includes a conductive portion and an opening through the backsheet. A conductive tab or cover is received over the opening, and an insulator is disposed between the tab cover and the opening to mitigate the risk of electrical contact between the components. The insulator can be precut washer-like members or an applied insulating material situated between the conductive components of the light source assembly that pose a potential for shorting. Using tabs with burr-free edges also mitigates against the risk of electrical shorting.

Mitigating shorting risks in encapsulated organic light emitting devices (OLEDs)

A method and device for making integrally formed one-piece molded parts is provided, where the molded parts are to contain a void within their volume. An exemplary such molded part is an arc tube for a discharge lamp. A wax core is first molded onto a core pin wire in the shape of the desired void, the discharge chamber in the case of an arc tube. Then the part is molded over the wax core to provide an integrally formed one-piece part having the appropriately dimensioned void volume therein defined by the wax core. After the part has been hardened around the wax core, the core is removed by conventional means. The holes through the finished molded part left after the core pin wire is removed can be filled in, or in the case of an arc tube they are useful as passageways to accommodate electrodes therethrough.

Integrally formed molded parts and method for making the same

A mold is provided having a porous metal insert through which a mold release agent can be pumped to provide a desired, precisely metered quantity or coating of the release agent at a desired location along the inner surface of a mold cavity, or at the inner surface of an injection port, between or at periodic intervals of successive moldings of parts. The need to manually apply mold release agent between successive moldings, for example to the injection port of an injection mold, is reduced, thereby reducing or substantially eliminating inconsistent applications of release agent that are characteristic of manually applied coatings. A method of molding using the disclosed porous metal insert also is provided.

Method for manufacturing a lamp electrode

A generally cylindrically shaped feeder having a feeder housing defining a cavity bounded by an inner surface having a plurality of spiral grooves spaced apart from each other and extending from a front end to a back end of the inner surface of the feeder housing. A generally cone shaped end cap is dimensioned such that a cone base engages the back end of said cylindrically shaped feeder housing. The cap has an inner surface which faces the cavity and forms a plurality of grooves cut into the inner surface which extend radially from a cone top to the cone base and are spaced about a periphery of the end cap to align with corresponding spiral grooves in the feeder housing. A drive rotates the cylindrically shaped feeder about an axis of rotation to move parts along the pluralite of spiral grooves to the pluralite of radial grooves for delivery to a discharge zone at the top of said cone.

Part feeding system

A method of manufacture for a lamp involves making up, separate from an envelope, a sub-assembly comprising a lead structure and a vitreous body that surrounds it. In one form of this method, particles of vitreous material are pressed into a mold cavity that surrounds the lead structure, thus forming a compact surrounding the lead structure. This compact is sintered in an inert atmosphere, thereby forming the sub-assembly. Thereafter, the sub-assembly is placed in an opening in the envelope, and a hermetic seal is made between the envelope and the vitreous body in the interface region between the envelope and the vitreous body.

Means for supporting and sealing the lead structure of a lamp and method

This lamp comprises (1) an envelope of vitreous light-transmitting material enclosing an internal space where light is generated and (ii) conductive lead structure projecting into said internal space. Surrounding and sealed to said lead structure is a body of vitreous material formed of particles of vitreous material pressed together and sintered. This body extends through an opening in the envelope that communicates with said internal space. A hermetic seal is provided between said envelope and said body in the interface region between said envelope and said body.
