A rotational position sensor arrangement having first and second sensors positioned adjacent to an axial face of a target disc. The target disc has the axial face either one wave profile or radially spaced apart first and second wave profiles, having respectively, a first plurality of segments and a second plurality of segments, with each of the segments being formed with axially offset peaks and valleys which extend along radial lines. The valleys separate the segments, and the number of the first plurality of segments is different than the number of the second plurality of segments. The first and second sensors are located at different radial distances from the axis and signal a controller with data on a field variance due to a difference in at least one of a size or location of the one wave profile or the first and second wave profiles as they pass the first and second sensors in order to determine a rotational speed and/or position.

An integration kit is disclosed herein that allows for mounting of a resolver trigger wheel relative to a bearing assembly, resolver, and rotor. The integration kit simplifies assembly and saves space. The integration kit includes a resolver integration sleeve that includes a first axial section including a radially inner surface defining a bearing support and radially inwardly extending flange defining an axial abutment surface. The resolver integration sleeve also includes a second axial section including at least one anti-rotation slot dimensioned to receive a portion of a trigger wheel, at least one anti-rotation tab extending axially towards the first axial section and dimensioned to be received by a rotor, at least one securing tab extending radially outward and configured to engage a trigger wheel, and a radially outwardly extending flange.

Resolver integration kit for variable reluctance resolver

A rotational position sensor arrangement having first and second sensors positioned adjacent to first and second axial faces or a first axial face and a radial face of a target disc. The target disc has first and second wave profiles on the first axial face and the second axial or radial face, having respectively, first and second pluralities of segments, with each segment being formed with axially offset peaks and valleys which extend along radial lines/planes. The valleys separate the segments, and the number of the first plurality of segments is different than that of the second plurality of segments. The first and second sensors signal a controller with data on a field variance due to a difference in at least one of a size or location of the first and second wave profiles as they pass the first and second sensors to determine a rotational speed and/or position.

In a motor assembly, a rotor and a trigger wheel are each secured to a first race of a four-point contact ball bearing. The circumferential position of the rotor and trigger wheel are each fixed with respect to the first bearing, and therefore with respect to one another. A resolver sensor is bolted to a housing. A second race is mounted at a fixed axial position relative to the housing, thereby locating the trigger wheel with respect to the resolver sensor. In some embodiments, the first race may be an inner race and the second race an outer race. In other embodiments, the first race may be an outer race and the second race an inner race.

Motor assembly and method of assembling motor

A roller-cage assembly that provides both improved lubrication and reduced contact surface of the cage is disclosed. The roller-cage assembly includes a plurality of rolling elements and a cage. The cage includes a first radial flange, a second radial flange, and a plurality of crossbars extending therebetween that define a plurality of rolling element pockets. The plurality of rolling elements are located in at least some of the plurality of rolling element pockets. The plurality of crossbars each include lateral surfaces that support the plurality of rolling elements. The cage includes a radial support surface that includes at least one recess. The at least one recess serves as a lubrication reservoir as well as provides a reduction in surface area of the radial support surface against an associated support element, such as a housing, shaft, or bearing ring.

A quick connecting bayonet style linkage has a hollow tube member with a transversely disposed pin near an engaging end; a shaft member sized to have a sliding fit in the engaging end of the hollow tube member and having a transversely disposed slot sized top slide over the transversely disposed pin; and provision for capturing the shaft member within the engaging end of the hollow tube member when the transversely disposed pin is engaged with the transversely disposed slot.
