A countertop faucet assembly adapted to be secured over a hole in a countertop without requiring access to the area below the countertop. A base subassembly of the countertop faucet assembly is secured to the countertop and a faucet and cap assembly is thereafter secured to the base subassembly.

Bypass valve for a liquid treatment tank

A bypass valve for directing a supply flow either through a treatment tank to the distribution system, or for bypassing the treatment tank and directing the supply flow through the valve directly to the distribution system. In the bypass position, the treatment tank may be physically removed from the bypass valve, the bypass valve serving as a disconnect. While in the bypass position, the valve may be actuated to pressurize the treatment tank from the supply flow.

A flow control valve for multicycle liquid treatment apparatus has a pair of rotatable, slotted circular discs at its opposite ends. Rotation of the discs causes the slots to be selectively aligned with various ports, passages, holes and channels so as to control the direction and duration of liquid flow during the different cycles of the apparatus.

A dispenser for metering a predetermined volume of acid into a water softener brine tank utilizes a generally hat-shaped diaphragm that flops from one surface of a metering chamber to the opposite surface when acted upon by either pressure or suction. The diaphragm essentially lines one-half of the chamber at a time, and its movement either draws acid into the chamber or expels the acid from the chamber.

A brine system to manufacture brine for the regeneration of ion exchange material including a brine well positioned within a brine drum. A vertically adjustable air chamber activates a diaphragm and control arm assembly which in turn controls inlet shut-off valves associated with the brine well when the water level within the drum reaches a predetermined level. The control arm has a unique cam arrangement associated therewith which prevents premature shut-off of the valves. Water enters and is withdrawn from the brine well through a down tube having a vertically adjustable lower end extending down into the brine well to a predetermined level and an upper end in communication with the shut-off valves through a series of passageways and chambers. A floating disc seal is provided within one of these chambers to shut-off the air entering the chamber after the brine is drawn down to a level below the lower end of the down tube.
