An improved mirror assembly comprises a combination of mirrors at the front corners of the vehicle along with a pair of side mirrors and a mirror at the back of the vehicle. The mirrors are so positioned to eliminate any blind spots along the boundaries of the vehicle while enhancing the lines of sight therealong, particularly for objects along the front and rear of the vehicle. The mirrors associated with these latter zones are positioned so as to be adjacent the driver to preclude obstruction by packages stacked in the vehicle.

Mirror assembly for trucks

A safety mirror system includes a housing mounted to a rear surface of a truck, the housing including an electrically operated drive train therein. A bracket includes a first end coupled to the drive train and a second end having the mirror mounted thereto. The drive train includes a motor which is operable by a driver operable switch in the electrical circuit. Upon switch operation the drive train will pivot the mirror between a position in which the mirror is behind the truck to a position at which the mirror is displaced from the side of the truck and angled towards the blind spot behind the rear of the truck. At this displaced position the driver can view the image of the dead space in the displaced rear mirror. The displaced mirror can be pivoted to a storage position adjacent the truck when not in use. Stop lugs within the drive train physically preclude movement of the mirror beyond the storage or displaced positions as well as cease current delivery to the drive train at these positions.

A noise reduction kit for modifying a two (2) spool axial flow turbofan engine with multi-stage compressors and fan driven by multi-stage reaction turbines, and a thrust of at least about 18,000 lbs. at sea level. There is a fan at the upstream end of the core engine for generating axial fan air flow through bypass ducts terminating at a common nozzle, the common nozzle having a mixing plane area for each of the fan air flow and for the exhaust gas in a range between 700 and 800 square inches. A target thrust reverser includes opposing doors rotatable into position to block and divert the flow of exhaust gas for generating reverse thrust. Mixing means for radially diverting fan air and permitting radially outward expansion of exhaust gas is provided coaxially downstream to the core engine. An acoustically dampened light bulb-shaped nose cone is provided for coaxial attachment to an upstream end of the core engine. The axial flow front fan is axially separated from the inlet guide vane is extended relatively forwardly. A bleed air valve, selectively operational to bleed air from the core engine when the valve is open, is ducted for directing bleed air to the vicinity of the common nozzle.

Safety backup mirror

An equipment support stand for mounting and positioning photographic, motion picture and video accessories and the like. A riser comprising a plurality of telescoping shafts is coupled to at least three rotatable support legs which, when activated, will position the riser vertically relative to the mounting surface. Each support leg is integral with a positioning sleeve which is rotatably coupled about the lower end of the riser. Each positioning sleeve includes at least one engagement surface which is adapted to interface with the adjacent positioning sleeve or sleeves. When engaged, each of the three support legs are angularly spaced from adjacent support legs by 120.degree. of arc. In a closed state, the support legs may be rotated about the riser and be placed in a co-planar relationship with one another to facilitate storage and transport.

Equipment support stand

A coupling for mounting and positioning photographic, motion picture and video accessories and the like. A receiving base couples the positioning head to an equipment stand shaft, the receiving base being rotatable about the axis of the stand shaft. A first terminus of the receiving base incorporates an axially oriented beveled surface which is disposed within a cylindrical bore disposed through the head housing. The receiving base is maintained within the cylindrical bore in the housing through the engagement of and the force imposed thereon by an impinging stud bearing upon the beveled surface. A support post is mounted within the cylindrical bore of the housing extending outwardly in opposition to the receiving base. The end of the support shaft extending from the housing is fully rotatable about its interface with the housing. The engagement of the impinging stud against the beveled surface of the receiving base places the adjacent ends of the receiving base and support shaft in frictional engagement permitting the support shaft to be secured in a desired position.

A material layer is located in a spacing between a tip of blades for at least some of the fans and a duct for the fans, thereby to reduce a normal clearance between the tip of blades for the fan and the duct. Mixing means for radially diverting fan air and permitting radially outward expansion of exhaust gas is provided coaxially downstream to the core engine. An acoustically dampened light bulb-shaped nose cone is provided for coaxial attachment to an upstream end of the core engine. There is an inlet pressure sensing probe housed in an inlet bullet forwardly of the fans. Alternatively, there is an inlet pressure sensing probe housed at a location of an inlet guide vane forwardly of the fans, the probe being shaped for aerodynamic location in the inlet guide vane. The axial flow front fan is axially separated from the inlet guide vane is extended relatively forwardly.

Safety mirror fender guide

A coupling for mounting and positioning photographic, motion picture and video accessories and the like. A mounting sleeve is adapted to be secured to an equipment supporting member. A fixed positioning disc depends from and is integral with the mounting sleeve. A cylindrical shaft is axially coupled to and extends from the fixed positioning disc. A first rotatable positioning disc is disposed about the cylindrical shaft, a frictional stabilizing member being disposed between the fixed positioning disc and the first rotatable positioning disc. A second rotatable positioning disc is annularly disposed about the cylindrical shaft in proximity to the first rotatable positioning disc. The adjacent surfaces of the first and second rotatable positioning discs have disposed therein reciprocally aligned pairs of linear channels of varying width and depth, each pair of linear channels being adapted to receive and secure equipment supporting shafts of differing cross section. A securing handle is coupled to the cylindrical shaft and is adapted to impose an axial force to engage the rotatable discs and thereby securely position each pair of aligned, linear channels at any position along a 360.degree. arc relative to the axis of the mounting sleeve.

Grip head

A length of an absorbing optical fiber is connected to receive light output from an optically pumped light source. The light source includes a gain fiber that is doped with erbium. Pumping the erbium with a pump wavelength of 980 nm causes the erbium to emit light having a wavelength of 1550 nm. Ytterbium ions in the absorbing fiber attenuate light having the pump wavelength without affecting the intensity of the 1550 nm light output from the erbium in the gain fiber.
