A reinforced resin composition may include a polycarbonate, a functionalizing agent, and an inorganic filler that has been functionalized with the functionalizing agent, the functionalized inorganic filler being present in an amount ranging from 1 to 25 percent by weight of the resin composition. The reinforced resin may exhibit a melt flow index of 25 or less, when measured at a load of 1.2 kg, after allowing the resin to remain at a temperature of 300&#xb0; C. for 10 minutes. A method of reducing thermal degradation of a reinforced polycarbonate material may include introducing into said polycarbonate material at least one inorganic filler functionalized with a functionalizing agent, such that the reinforced resin exhibits a melt flow index of 25 or less, when measured at a load of 1.2 kg, after allowing the resin to remain at a temperature of 300&#xb0; C. for 10 minutes.

A system and process for improving container flow within a port facility, including improved equipment and software for controlling operation and flow of the equipment in the part facility. The system may include a port facility geographically arranged to separate land operations and water operations. Land operations such as over-the-road missions and rail missions may use landside access areas positioned at one end of a yard including rows of container stacks. Water missions such as loading/discharging a vessel may use waterside access areas positioned at the opposite end of the yard. Automated cranes linked with a terminal operating system may pick/drop/shuffle containers and/or refrigerated containers ('reefers') within the container stacks. Shuttle trucks may be used to pick/drop containers at quayside access points and the waterside access areas. The shuttle trucks may utilize shared wheelpaths. Software systems may be used to implement various principles of the disclosure.

A modular data acquisition system includes a stacked assembly of a rain gauge module mounted on a data recorder module, in turn mounted on a water level sensor module which in turn is mounted on an observation well casing. Each module has a housing that is sized and configured to engage and nest with the adjacent housing and the housings can be locked together to minimize vandalism. The rain gauge module and the water level sensor module, have sensors that are electrically connected to a data recorder in the data recorder module through connectors on the module housings that are positioned to connect and establish electrical contact when the module housings are nested together.

Modular data acquisition system

Stormwater from a watershed is collected in a stormwater collection basin for water quality improvement primarily by settling of suspended solids, and also for control of the flow rate through downstream flow channels. The outflow rate from the basin is governed by an adjustable water control device such as a gate valve operated by a motor under control of a microprocessor in accordance with predetermined conditions as sensed by sensors such as basin water level sensors, upstream flow or rainfall sensors, and flow rate sensors downstream of the basin. The effective capacity of the basin is increased by the ability to interactively adjust the flow rate from the basin based on sensor inputs indicative of anticipated inflow rates and the flow capacity of the downstream channels and water can be retained in periods of dry weather for irrigation and the like.
