A method of maintaining data described in a plurality of data models. An ontology is used to describe the data models. The data models are managed using the ontology and using a validation schema to validate object(s) governed by the ontology and derived from data-centric component(s) of content that has a semantically independent structure. Management of the data models is neutral relative to implementation of the content.

Managing data systems to support semantic-independent schemas

A method and apparatus are present for managing information for parts. Information for a part is identified. The information comprises a plurality of features for the part, a number of levels of details for each of the plurality of features, and a history associated with the plurality of features. The plurality of features for the part, the number of levels of detail for each of the plurality of features, and the history associated with the plurality of features are associated with each other to form a plurality of associations. The information and the plurality of associations are stored in a repository.

Managing information for generating models of parts

The present invention is a network-based system and method for providing a centrally controlled single source location for storing electronic data (including but not limited to part information such as Computer Aided Designed [CAD] solid models, associated textual data, images, mathematical algorithms, and links to associative websites) to be accessed by users creating various products/designs using various application programs. The system includes a central computer system and a plurality of user computer systems coupled to a network. The central computer system stores a plurality of computer solid models. From a user computer system, a user accesses an application program run by the central computer system in order to search and retrieve the stored data files (solid models).

Methods and systems for predicting fuel sensor performance during motion are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving tank geometry information, receiving sensor configuration information, and receiving tank motion information. The method then computes a fuel (surface) plane-to-sensor intersection for at least one tank position based on the tank motion information, and also computes a wetted volume at every fuel (surface) plane-to-sensor intersection for each sensor location based on the sensor configuration information. Finally, the method computes a fuel quantity at every fuel (surface) plane-to-sensor intersection based on a sum of the wetted volumes.
