A portable cartridge loading apparatus for holding, locating, and individually dispensing electrical junction boxes. The apparatus includes a positioning apparatus for locating the loader on a predetermined building element or stud. The apparatus has devices to locate each junction box in a predetermined depth and height location on each wall, at least two different height locations. The different height installation of each junction box is achieved without setting any other location device, other than repositioning the loading device in a second attitude on the building element or stud.

Apparatus for holding, locating and dispensing electrical boxes

The system of computer furniture includes a plurality of conference units which have a work surface with a straight portion and a 90.degree. curved portion at one end of the straight portion, a plurality of units having a straight work surface, a plurality of units having a quarter-round (90.degree.) work surface, a plurality of units having a half-round (180.degree.) work surface, and a plurality of units having one inside corner configuration. The units each include a first latch member on one end thereof and a second latch member on the other end thereof so that the units can be conveniently mated with and released from each other to provide flexibility in making various system arrangements. The latch member itself comprises two mating portions, one portion having a body and two truncated triangular elements extending from a surface of the body, with a space therebetween, the other portion having a body with two triangular slots therein to receive the triangular elements of one portion. The one portion includes a locking element member which moves between two positions to latch and then release the two portions.

Connectable/releasable computer furniture and the latching system used

Asymmetric membranes are prepared by treating a major surface of a glassy polymer composition to render the surface resistant to solvent crazing and then contacting the glassy polymer composition with a crazing solvent. The crazing solvent permanently deforms the glassy polymer composition by forming a microporous structure on the untreated surface. The treated surface becomes the dense, discriminating layer of the membrane which achieves desirable permeation selectivity. The methods of treatment are (1) crosslinking, (2) providing an agent which renders the surface resistant to crazing, and (3) providing an agent which reacts with the surface. Additionally, the glassy polymer composition can be crosslinked before or after it is crazed to increase the mechanical strength of the membrane.

Membranes containing microporous structure

Membrane compositions useful in filtration and distillation applications are prepared by providing a glassy polymer composition (e.g., polystyrene) optionally having an amount of crosslinking and crazing the polymer composition in the presence of a monomer (e.g., methyl methacrylate) which can graft to said polymer composition. The membrane compositions so prepared comprise a microporous structure wherein the micropores can contain polymeric material. Alternatively, the surface region of the membrane composition and/or the surface region of the micropores has a polymeric material grafted thereto.

Membranes comprising microporous structure

A carrel-like module which, in one configuration, accommodates a single user, and in an expanded configuration, accommodates two or more users. The carrel module includes an arcuate shaped writing panel, preferably having a concavely shaped rear edge opposite from a seated user and a convexly shaped near edge presented adjacent the seated user, with two end edges, respectively, connecting the rear and near edges. The end edges and the rear edge are bounded by upright panels, the panels extending generally above the writing panel to the head level of the seated user. The two panels presented adjacent the respective end edges are rotatably connected to leg-like support members located at corners of the writing panel formed by the intersection of the rear edge and the end edges, respectively, of the writing panel. The end panels are removably secured to the writing panel, such that they may be conveniently disengaged therefrom, and rotated about their associated leg members by the user. The associated leg members include integral stop elements arranged therewith to prevent further rotation of the end panels when they are coplanar with the nearest panel presented adjacent the rear edge. Hinged to the respective end edges of the writing panel are writing panel extensions, which extensions are held against the undersurface of the writing panel in the closed position. When the end panels are rotated to be coplanar with their adjacent rear edge panels, the writing panel extensions may be rotated from their closed position about the respective writing panel edges to an extended position coplanar with the writing panel, so as to extend the surface of the writing panel adjacent the rotated end panels.
