Disclosed is a mechanical fastening tab formed from a substrate adapted to be joined to a disposable absorbent product and a first mechanical fastener component. The fastening tab has a Gurley stiffness value of less than about 1000 milligrams in an area of the fastening tab which includes said first mechanical fastening component. Also disclosed are disposable products comprising such mechanical fastening tabs.

An absorbent article includes a particulate chemical mixture, which is exothermically reactive in the presence of air or moisture, for heating at least a portion of the absorbent article. The heat generated improves the absorption of body fluids by lowering the viscosity of the absorbed fluids. The absorbent article can be formed as a sanitary napkin.

Internally heated absorbent article

An apparatus and method for stretching a continuously moving elastomeric web in a cross machine direction includes a pair of rotatable, cylindrical rims which are located adjacent the elastomeric web. A supporting mechanism is connected to the cylindrical rims to guide the rims for rotation about their axes. The axes of the cylindrical rims are oriented to position the rims at a close spacing at a first location and a far spacing at a second location. The far spacing is substantially greater than the close spacing relative to the elastic web path. A gripping means is located on the cylindrical rims such that, as the rims are rotated by a driving means, the gripping means receives the elastomeric web and holds the elastomeric web as it is stretched in the cross machine direction. The driving means is connected to the cylindrical rims. In addition, each cylindrical rim may have a center opening therethrough defined by its inner circumferential surface. A facing sheet may be supplied through the center opening and bonded to the stretched elastomeric web to provide a laminated web which is stretchable in the cross machine direction.

Nonwoven webs are disclosed which comprise monofilaments or fibers of a thermoplastic material. Basically, the improvement comprises the use of monofilaments or fibers which have a bilobal shaped cross-section. Nonwoven webs made according to this invention are particularly suited to be used for liners for disposable diapers as well as wraps for catamenial devices. Methods are also disclosed for producing such nonwoven webs.

An improved sealing means is provided in a multiple component assembly for delivering a fluid material under pressure which includes a lower fluid material container section having a cavity formed therein and provided with at least one outlet orifice formed in an outlet surface of the lower fluid material container section, which outlet orifice communicates with the cavity, an upper fluid material container section formed in at least two parts which are arranged in juxtaposed mating relationship and which define a cavity therein, one of the juxtaposed parts having a fluid material inlet in an inlet surface, the inlet communicating with the cavity in the upper fluid material container section. The upper fluid material container section is mounted in superposed mating relationship on the lower fluid material container section and the upper fluid material container cavity is arranged to communicate with the lower fluid material container cavity and thereby define a fluid material chamber. A first sealing means is provided between the mating surfaces of the lower fluid material container section and the upper fluid material container section and is arranged surrounding the fluid material chamber. A second sealing means is provided between each of the at least two parts of the upper fluid material container section adjacent the cavity in the upper fluid material container.
