A cable gland for a cable includes a body, an insert located within the body, the insert having an internal axial bore, and an adaptor provided with positive location structure arranged in use within the bore of the insert.

Cable gland assembly

A removable cap is provided to cover temporarily the end of a cable during assembly of a cable gland to protect an elastomeric seal from contact with sharp conductor cores.

Cable gland

The female part of an underwater electrical connector has inner and outer chambers containing non-conductive fluid. Each chamber has an opening sealed by a respective spring loaded ball in the unmated condition of the connector and by a contact pin of the male part in the mated condition of the connector. The balls are displaced transversely to the direction of movement of the contact pin to engage the contact socket and automatically re-seal the openings when the contact pin is withdrawn.

Electrical connector

An insulation piercing earthing ring for a gland termination to provide earth continuity between an electrically conductive gland body and an electrically conductive inner sleeve of an insulated cable or pipe has a flat annular washer for locating against the end of the cable or pipe with at least one contact finger extending from the periphery of the washer to surround the cable or pipe and terminating in an inwardly directed projection for piercing the insulation. The contact finger extends axially and radially outwards from the periphery of the washer in the undeformed free state and is deformed radially inwards by engagement with a tapered entry portion of the gland body causing the projection to pierce the insulation and contact the electrically conductive inner sleeve.
